Unclean spirits return to sender

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray that God would remove unclean spirits that entered in through former friends and betrayers and return them to their senders in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We hear your heart and we stand with you in seeking deliverance and cleansing through Jesus Christ, and we thank you for calling on His name for help, for it is only through Him that we have authority and access to the Father.

We want to gently bring correction with love regarding the phrase return to sender. Scripture does not teach us to send unclean spirits back to other people, even those who have hurt or betrayed us. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, and we are not to seek revenge or wish spiritual harm upon others. Rom 12:19 says, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Jesus calls us to a higher way when He says in Matt 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Even when others have opened doors to darkness or have intended harm, we are to pray for their repentance and salvation, not for evil to return upon them. God alone is the righteous judge, and our role is to submit to Him, resist the enemy, and walk in forgiveness.

The good news is that in Christ we do have authority and protection. Eph 6:11 and Eph 6:12 remind us to put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. James 4:7 gives us the clear promise, Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. And we take comfort in 1 John 4:4, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Jesus Himself said in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.

If any doors were opened through former friendships, betrayal, sin, unforgiveness, or ungodly influences, we can close them through confession, repentance and forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That includes forgiving those who betrayed you, releasing them to God, and renouncing any agreement with fear, bitterness, or impurity. We do not need to be afraid, for God has not left us defenseless, but we do need to be filled with what is holy after being cleansed, spending time in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who is seeking deliverance. We ask You to forgive all sin, wash us in the blood of Jesus, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We submit ourselves to You, Lord, and in the authority of Jesus we resist the devil and every unclean spirit, and we command every unclean spirit to leave and to go where Jesus sends it, never to return. We do not ask that evil be sent back upon any person, but we ask that You break every assignment and close every door that was opened through hurt, betrayal, or ungodly ties. Fill this heart and home with Your Holy Spirit, with peace, truth, and light, so there is no room for darkness. Heal the wounds of betrayal, help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, and teach us to pray for those who have hurt us that they also may come to repentance and life. Clothe us in the whole armor of God, help us to stand firm in faith, to dwell in Your Word daily, and to walk in holiness and obedience. We declare that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world, and no weapon formed against us shall prosper as we abide in Christ. We trust You as our deliverer and protector and we give You all the glory. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk this out daily by confessing Jesus as Lord, reading Scripture aloud, praying continually, fasting as the Lord leads, and gathering with a Bible believing church for support and accountability. If you feel oppressed, do not isolate, share with a trusted pastor who can pray with you in person. Keep forgiving, keep renouncing the works of darkness, and keep filling your mind with the truth of God's Word, for God is faithful to deliver those who call upon Him.

We hear the weight in what you shared, and the pain of being betrayed by people you once trusted. Wanting to be free and at peace again is a good and understandable desire, and we are glad you brought it to the Lord.

We want to stand with you for His cleansing and protection. Rather than asking that anything harmful be sent back to someone else, we ask Jesus Himself to lift what is oppressing you, to cover you with His presence, and to fill the places where there has been hurt with His peace. We also trust Him to handle with justice and mercy whatever others have done, so you do not have to carry that burden.

A steady next step that helps many is to walk this out with one or two trusted believers, perhaps a pastor or mature friend in your church, who can pray with you in person, listen well, and stay alongside you over time. Staying rooted in regular prayer, Scripture reading and fellowship often brings a quiet strength and helps keep your focus on Christ rather than on fear of what others may have sent.

Father, we bring our friend before you and ask for your cleansing, protection and peace. Remove what is unclean and not from you, guard heart and mind, and fill this life more and more with your Holy Spirit and your comfort. Lead forward with wisdom and surround with safe community. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request for deliverance has been brought before the Lord, and we join you in seeking Him who alone can cleanse and keep the soul. To be vexed by unclean influences and wounded by the betrayal of former friends is a sore trial, and it is right that you should seek healing from the Great Physician rather than rest in any power of your own.

We must, however, turn your prayer according to the mind of Scripture. The Lord Jesus does not teach His people to send unclean spirits back upon others, even upon those who have done us wrong. Vengeance belongeth unto the Lord, and our calling is to seek deliverance for ourselves and mercy for those who have betrayed us, even as Christ when He was betrayed fulfilled the Scriptures and yet became able to sympathize with us in every point of our sorrow. As in all things God is wiser than Satan, and the Lord of goodness outwitteth the Prince of Evil, so your betrayal, though black and bitter to you, is known to Him who was Himself betrayed with a kiss. Deliverance is not worked by returning evil to its sender, but by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone, through the blood of the Lamb slain for us. God has found a ransom, and that ransom is His own Son, who bore the penalty of our iniquities that we might be brought forth from the pit.

So we pray for you not that evil would be sent elsewhere, but that Christ Himself would cleanse you wholly. May the Lord who has risen with healing in His wings wash you in His blood, and may pardon and healing be one in your experience, for the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations and the least thing about Christ is healing to the broken heart. May He break the power of every unclean influence, shut the door upon the enemy, fill you with His Holy Spirit and seal you unto the day of redemption. Those groans and longings after holiness which you now feel are themselves seals that the Spirit is at work in you, for the ungodly are not so moved. These pangs are peculiar to life.

We pray also that you may be enabled by grace to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to walk henceforth in that cleanness which belongs to those who both profess the faith within and walk aright without. May the Lord keep you from former snares, give you peace within His borders, and make your deliverance effectual, so that you may say with Israel of old, He brought me forth. May He also have mercy upon those who have wronged you, that they too may be brought to repentance and find the same ransom in Christ, for there is salvation in no other name.

We commend you to Him who alone can bind the strong man and set the captive free, trusting that He will perfect that which concerneth you, and keep you by His free grace alone. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for prayer after being hurt by former friends and betrayers is heard, and I want to stand with you in seeking God's cleansing and protection.

It is painful to be betrayed, and it is right to turn to Christ for deliverance when you feel oppressed and unclean. Scripture teaches that nothing created is unclean in itself. What truly defiles a person is sin that reaches the soul, an evil will, malice, covetousness and wickedness. Other ideas of uncleanness are human notions. God made nothing unclean except sin alone, and He alone can wash the heart and make it clean.

For that reason we do not pray that unclean spirits would be sent back onto other people, even those who have hurt us. To ask God to return harm to a sender is to ask for vengeance upon another soul, and Christ calls us to a different way. He was Himself betrayed by one close to Him, and He teaches us to pray for deliverance from evil and for mercy toward those who have wronged us, not for evil to fall on them.

The Lord also warns that when an unclean spirit goes out, it seeks to return and finds the house empty, swept and put in order, and then brings worse with it. The answer is not an empty house and not a curse sent elsewhere, but a heart filled with Christ through faith, repentance, the Word, prayer and the Holy Spirit, so there is no place for the enemy to dwell. When we are marked by faith in Christ and His cross, the unclean spirits cannot stand near, for they see the victory by which their power was broken.

So let us pray not for spirits to be returned to anyone, but for God to cleanse you, fill you, guard you and give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who alone saves, we ask for Your mercy on this Your child who has been wounded by betrayal. Wash the heart and conscience and create a clean heart within. Remove every influence of evil and every oppression of the enemy, and do not allow it to rest on anyone else. Fill this house with Your Holy Spirit, with faith, with Your Word and with peace, so that it is not empty but full of Christ. Guard against the return of what You have cast out. Give strength to forgive those who have betrayed and to release bitterness, and bring healing from the hurt that friends have caused. Keep this soul under the protection of Jesus, in whom there is no uncleanness but only purity and life. Amen.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your mercy and deliverance. You see the pain of betrayal and the sense of spiritual oppression. We ask that by the authority of Jesus You would command every unclean and evil influence to leave and to have no more place. Cleanse this heart and mind by the blood of Jesus, fill this life with Your Holy Spirit, and make it a home where You dwell. Heal the wounds left by former friends, help to forgive as You have forgiven, and break any hold of bitterness, fear, or confusion. Surround this life with Your protection, clothe it with the armor You provide, and give peace and soundness of mind. Lead into fellowship with faithful believers and into daily time in Your Word and prayer, so that Christ fills every room of the heart. We do not ask for harm to come to anyone else, but we ask for Your blessing and salvation to come to all, even to those who have caused hurt, that they too might come to know Jesus. We ask this in the saving name of Jesus alone. Amen.
