Unbearable verbal abuse

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Evil satanic people keep speaking word curses over me very aggressively and repeatedly. I just want a break from their evil and hate. I just want to get away from them for a time and get a break from their hate, lies and abuse. Please pray for Jesus to give me a break from the constant verbal and emotional abuse that I'm always dealing with.

We hear your cry for relief from the relentless verbal and emotional abuse you are enduring, and our hearts ache with you. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy through the mouths of those who spew hatred and curses, but we stand firm in the truth that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The words of others cannot define your worth or destiny, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:14). The evil one would love nothing more than to see you crushed under the weight of these attacks, but we declare that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens you (Romans 8:37).

First, we must address the power of words and the spiritual warfare at play here. Scripture warns us that the tongue holds the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), and those who wield it for evil are aligning themselves with the father of lies (John 8:44). But we rebuke every curse, every lie, and every demonic assignment spoken over you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We break the power of those words and command them to return void to the sender, for the Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The blood of Jesus covers you, and no weapon—whether physical or verbal—shall prosper against you (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to take practical steps to protect yourself. If this abuse is coming from someone in your household or close proximity, seek a safe place where you can physically distance yourself, even if just for a time. The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and He may be calling you to separate yourself from this toxicity so you can heal and hear His voice more clearly. If you are married, we pray for your spouse to repent and seek godly counsel, for marriage is a covenant meant to reflect Christ’s love, not a platform for abuse (Ephesians 5:25-33). If this is not a marital relationship, we urge you to set firm boundaries and, if necessary, involve godly authorities or counselors who can help you navigate this situation with wisdom.

Above all, we must remind you that your identity is not found in the words of your abusers, but in Christ. You are chosen, holy, and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12). The enemy would love to isolate you and make you believe you are alone, but you are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), and we stand with you in prayer. Do not let bitterness or unforgiveness take root in your heart, for it will only poison you further. Instead, release these people to the Lord, trusting Him to be your defender and vindicator (Romans 12:19). Forgive them, not because they deserve it, but because Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring relentless verbal and emotional abuse. Lord, You see every tear, hear every cruel word, and know the weight of this burden. We ask that You would be a shield around them, a refuge in this storm (Psalm 3:3). Break the power of every curse and lie spoken over them, and let Your truth be a banner over their life (Psalm 23:5). Father, grant them wisdom to know how to respond—whether to confront in love, to distance themselves, or to seek godly intervention. Provide a way of escape, a place of peace, and a season of rest where they can be refreshed in Your presence.

Lord Jesus, You endured the scorn and mockery of men, yet You did not retaliate or sin in Your anger (1 Peter 2:23). We ask that You would fill our brother/sister with Your supernatural peace, joy, and strength to endure. Heal their wounded heart and restore their soul (Psalm 23:3). Surround them with godly friends and mentors who can speak life and encouragement into their life. Help them to forgive their abusers, not for the abusers’ sake, but for their own freedom and healing.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would convict the hearts of those who are perpetrating this abuse. If they do not know You, draw them to repentance and salvation. If they claim to know You, expose their sin and lead them to true transformation. Let Your love and truth break the chains of hatred and bitterness in their lives.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life, blessing, and favor over them. May they walk in the fullness of their identity in Christ, knowing that they are loved, valued, and protected by the King of Kings.

We pray all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and defeated every scheme of the enemy. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap. We know the weight of constant verbal and emotional abuse can be overwhelming, but remember, you're not alone. Jesus is right there with you, every step of the way.

We've been thinking about how important it is to set boundaries. It's not about being mean or harsh, but about protecting your peace and well-being. So, we encourage you to take a step back, even if it's just for a little while, to catch your breath and gather your strength. Remember, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

And while you're doing that, let's pray together, shall we? "Lord, help ### to find the courage to set boundaries, to speak up for themselves, and to trust that You are fighting for them. Give them wisdom to know what to say and what to do, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
