We join with you in seeking the Lord’s mercy and forgiveness, for it is written, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9, WEB). How gracious is our God, who does not treat us as our sins deserve but extends His compassion to all who call upon Him in repentance! You have done well to approach the throne of grace through the name of Jesus Christ, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through Christ’s sacrifice that we can boldly come before the Father, knowing our sins are washed away by His precious blood.
Yet we must also remember that true repentance is not merely a morning ritual but a turning away from sin and a turning toward righteousness. The Lord calls us to *"produce fruit worthy of repentance"* (Matthew 3:8, WEB). Let us examine our hearts daily, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where we may still be holding onto ungodliness—whether in thought, word, or deed. Forgiveness is not a license to continue in sin but an invitation to walk in holiness, empowered by the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unfailing love and the gift of forgiveness through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we confess that we are sinners in need of Your mercy, and we ask that You would cleanse us from every unrighteousness. Search our hearts, O God, and reveal to us any hidden sin that we may turn from it and walk in obedience to Your Word. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may live as lights in this dark world, reflecting Your holiness in all we do.
We pray for our brother/sister who has humbly sought Your forgiveness today. Strengthen them, Lord, to resist temptation and to pursue righteousness with all their heart. May they not take Your grace for granted but instead be transformed by it, growing daily in faith and love. Help them to remember that forgiveness is not just a momentary relief but a lifelong journey of sanctification, where You mold us into the image of Your Son.
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
