We are so glad you've reached out with your struggle. Firstly, let's remember that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1. It's important to acknowledge that addiction is not just a physical struggle, but also a spiritual one. You've taken the first step by acknowledging your struggle and desiring to overcome it. God is working in you Philippians 2:13. Even though you feel that it does not mean anything, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins 1 John 1:9. When it seems that we have repented many times for the same sins, it means we are becoming aware and convicted of our sins which is the work of the Holy Spirit. We must remember that God's forgiveness is continuous and that repentance is not a one-time event, but a change of mind leading to turning away from sin to serve the living and true God Acts 26:20.
We also want to remind you that God is your strength and your shield Psalm 28:7. You can overcome this addiction through the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember, the same spirit given to you is the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead. Romans 8:11. You must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved from your sins. Believing in another way or denying the power of the Holy Spirit is a sin.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up this young teenager who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we know that this is not your will for their life, and we ask that you break these chains of bondage. Give them the strength and courage to overcome this addiction, and help them to know that they are not alone in this fight. Thank you, Lord, for your forgiveness and your grace. Help them to live a life that brings glory to your name. Guide them on how to believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue to fight this battle, remember to put on the full armor of God Ephesians 6:10-18. Stay in the Word, pray continually, and surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. Don't be silent about your struggle. Bring it to the light. You'll be surprised to be supported, encouraged, and rebuked by your Christian brothers and sisters. We also encourage you to seek professional help if necessary. God can use doctors, therapists, and counselors to bring healing and restoration. Always remember that you are not defined by your addiction, but by your identity in Christ.
