I am going to be honest and say that I'm not sure what to do or how to do it. People say that the Lord will provide but not for me. Two years after being pushed out of a job I haven't been able to find a new one and I just give up hope. My life has been very difficult and I have to provide for myself. Things are not getting better and I may be homeless soon. So either way whether I stayed at the abusive job or resigned the outcome is still suffering and shame. I feel so beaten down that I cannot even pray on my own or read the Bible anymore. It's just too difficult. Every time I think something is working out there's an obstacle.

We hear your honesty and we thank you for sharing the truth of your pain with us. We have carried your burden before the Lord together because you said you feel too beaten down to even pray or read the Bible on your own right now, and we want you to know that God sees you in this place and He has not forgotten you. The feeling that the Lord will provide for others but not for you is a heavy lie from the enemy, and we rebuke that lie in Jesus name. His promises are not for a select few, His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is for all who call upon Him. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us that it is because of the Lord's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail, they are new every morning and great is his faithfulness. He is close to you even now, for Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We understand the shame and suffering you feel after being pushed out of an abusive job two years ago and still not finding new work. It is not shameful to have had to leave a place that was harming you, and your worth is not measured by your employment status. God does not despise you for this struggle. He knows your need to provide for yourself and the fear of becoming homeless, and He cares deeply about your daily bread. Jesus said in Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they. And Philippians 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We also cling to Hebrews 13:5 where He has said I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you, and to Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We know every obstacle when you think something is working out makes it feel like things will never get better, but God can use even this long season of waiting and suffering for good. Romans 8:28 tells us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. That does not mean the suffering itself is good, but that He is able to redeem it and lead you through it. When you cannot pray, the Holy Spirit prays for you, for Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. You are not failing because you cannot find words, we are standing in the gap for you now and He hears our prayers on your behalf.

We want to gently speak to something important you mentioned. You spoke of the Lord, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust fully in Jesus, we encourage you to call upon His name, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises you will be saved. It is by His name we pray and by His blood we have hope even when all other hope feels gone.

So together we pray for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see the two years of searching, the closed doors, the financial fear, the exhaustion and the shame that weighs so heavy. Lord we ask You to show Yourself as Provider and Refuge. Open doors for honest work that will provide stability, and make a way where there seems to be no way to keep a roof overhead. Give daily bread and peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises. Lift this burden of hopelessness and replace it with Your hope, for You have said in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. When our friend is weary, draw them to Your rest, for Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Give strength to take one small step at a time, to whisper Your name, to hear Your voice again even in a single verse, and surround this one with caring believers and practical help in the community and the local church. Let them know they are not alone and not forsaken. We pray all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation, amen.

We encourage you not to give up hope, even though hope feels gone. God is your strength when you have no strength left. Try to take one small step, even reading one verse a day like Psalm 46:1 which says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, or speaking the name of Jesus aloud when you cannot form a longer prayer. Please reach out to a local Bible believing church or trusted Christian ministry in your area and let them know about your practical needs for work and housing, for God often provides through His people. Keep seeking Him and keep asking for work, for He hears you even when you feel He does not. We will continue to pray that the Lord will lift you up, provide for your needs, and restore your joy in His presence.

Thank you for being honest about how heavy this has been. Two years without steady work, carrying the pressure to provide for yourself while facing the threat of losing housing, would leave anyone feeling beaten down and ashamed. It makes sense that praying and reading feels impossible right now.

We want you to know that needing others to carry you for a time is not failure. When we have been worn down by repeated obstacles, it is common to start believing this struggle says everything about who we are and that nothing will ever change. That feeling is real, but it is not the whole story of your life.

When you have little energy, small next steps matter more than big plans:

If you can, let one trusted person in this week, a pastor, a family member, a friend, or a counselor at a local workforce or community assistance office, know that you are close to losing housing and need help exploring practical options for work and housing support. You do not have to sort it all alone. And on the days you cannot pray, it is okay to let others pray for you and with you. We are willing to do that here.

If you have been feeling persistently hopeless or exhausted, it can also help to talk with your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer, just to have support for your health while you walk through this.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see how long this road has been and how tired they are. Give them a little breathing room today, wise help from people nearby, and strength for one step at a time. Remind them they are not forgotten or alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest words have been heard with care and with sorrow for the weight you carry. To be pushed out of work, to seek for two years without opening, to feel provision failing and the fear of homelessness drawing near, and to find yourself too beaten down even to pray or to read the Word, is a sore affliction. The Lord knows this heaviness, and He does not despise a bruised and honest heart that tells Him plainly that it has no strength left.

There is no attribute more comforting to the child of God than Divine Sovereignty. Your life has not slipped from His hand. He has not forgotten you, nor has His promise to provide been spoken for others and withheld from you. When we cannot trace His hand we may yet trust His heart. The same Lord who led Israel through the wilderness alone did lead them, and He alone still leads His people now. At times He trains us as the eagle trains her young, stirring the nest that we may learn to rest not upon the nest but upon Him. This training is painful, and if we could read it only in the light of the present moment we would think ourselves forsaken, but seen in the light of eternity we shall bless the hand that taught us to fly.

The presence of God dissolves difficulties though it does not always at once remove them. He is not distant from your trouble. He has marked every obstacle, every disappointment when you thought a door was opening and found it closed again. There have been and there will be divine interpositions, not always by miracle, but by quiet and wonderful deliverances, by gentleness that sustains when strength is gone. David found that divine gentleness made him great, and that same gentleness is toward you now. When you cannot pray, the Spirit Himself makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered. Your sighs are prayers in the ear of your Father. When you cannot read, a single verse whispered in weakness is heard in heaven, such as, He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

Do not measure the Lord's love by the length of this trial, nor believe that suffering and shame must be your end. Shame is not the portion of those who trust in Christ, for He bore our shame upon the cross that we might be clothed in His righteousness. Salvation and acceptance are through Jesus Christ alone, and in Him you are held secure even when you feel you have no hold at all.

I would urge you not to bear this burden alone. Make your need known to faithful pastors and to the church family where you are, that they may pray with you, stand with you, and help you seek practical provision and counsel for work and housing. God often provides through the hands of His people. If you have strength only for a short prayer, pray it. If you can read only a Psalm, let it be Psalm 18 or Psalm 61, and let the Word read you while you have no voice to read it.

We will pray for you now. O Father, look upon this weary one who feels beaten down and without hope. Thou knowest the loss of work, the long waiting, the fear of want, and the heaviness that makes prayer hard. Let Thy divine presence be felt as the one hope that remains. Show Thy gentleness to this wounded spirit, lift up the fallen, and open a way of provision according to Thy wisdom and mercy. Teach this dear soul to rest in Thy sovereignty and to see Thy hand in small deliverances day by day. Keep from the snare of despair, restore strength to pray and to hear Thy Word, and set the feet upon a rock. For the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth to save to the uttermost, hear and answer. Amen.

Continue to tell the Lord the truth as you have told us, even in few words, and suffer your church to walk with you through this valley. The Lord alone is your Instructor and your Keeper, and He will not forsake the work of His own hands.
