There have been times in my life where I’ve been placed in situations where I had to choose on purpose to believe what the word of God says over how I feel, over what the situation looks like, times when I had to really fight.
I am not sure if you've ever been there but even if you haven't then come share in my experience.
Today was another day where I was to be taught by God that very same lesson about believing his word above all else.
In Acts 27, Paul who was at the time a prisoner, together with some others, found themselves in a boat on a sea and verse 14 tells us there arose a tempestuous wind, which got so bad that they had to get rid of some things, they got to the point where they had neither sun nor stars appear for many days,no small tempest lay on them, all hope that they should be saved was taken away(vs 20), it was bad and sometimes we get to that point in our lives where sometimes all there seem to be is total darkness, times when for days, that’s all there seem to be and times when there seems to be no hope, but today God reminded me that no matter the circumstance that you find yourself in, no matter how dark the path gets, even if to you there seems to be no way out, that you and I just have to trust him and his word. This is what Paul did, we are told in verses 21-25. In verse 25 Paul told them,"for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me" This is what Paul had to say after a visit from an angel of God,Paul like us had a choice, he could've chosen to look and worry about what was happening or trust God's word.
What have God said about your circumstance today?search his word ad find-out,pray to him and listen, Who will you believe? Will you look at your circumstance or will you trust his word today?
I share this with you hoping it will speak to you as it did to me and even more so.I was taught today to trust God's word no matter how grave things get, no matter what appears and they had lost some things but in that same story it shows that like the Hebrew boys, nothing would happen to not even a hair on their heads.
May you and I both continue to hold unto Jesus.
