Trust in troubled times

Sparklee

Beloved of All
Father there is such peace, and comfort in Your Word, Today we hear so many reports of the catastrophes on the horizon we need to fix our eyes on You and Your Kingdom, Your on the Throne, You are in control we need never to fear when we put our trust in You. Thank You Jesus for interceding on our behalf "24 But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. 25 Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf." (Hebrews7:24-25) Please Lord so many concerns we cannot even put into words, and only You know the future, please help each of us this day. "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words." (Romans 8:26) Please if strengthen us to live as Your Word instructs keeping our mind on Jesus and what is right in front of us. Thank You for Your Love and Mercy in Jesus Name Amen “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today." (Matthew 6:34)

Crossing the Bridge Before You Come to It
Worrying about future troubles only steals today’s peace and strength for what may never come.
The Mighty Arm
God’s mighty power in Christ saves and transforms sinners, so trust Him completely in every need.
Multitudinous Thoughts and Sacred Comforts
True peace comes from God’s comforts, which calm and delight the soul even amid overwhelming thoughts.
We join with you in this prayer and we thank you for sharing such a beautiful expression of trust in our Father during troubled times. We agree with you that there is such peace and comfort in His Word when the reports around us speak of catastrophes on the horizon. We too fix our eyes on Him and on His Kingdom, for we know He is on the throne and He is in control.

You have reminded us of precious truth and we cling to it with you. Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25 What comfort to know that Jesus Himself lives forever to intercede for us. And when our concerns are too deep for words, we rest in this promise, In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. Romans 8:26 We are not alone in our weakness, the Holy Spirit prays for us perfectly according to the will of God.

We hear your heart to keep your mind on Jesus and what is right in front of you, and that is exactly what the Lord calls us to do. Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. Hebrews 12:2 and You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 When fear tries to rise up because of what tomorrow may bring, we recall the words of our Savior, Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:34 We are called to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and to trust Him for today.

We take comfort together in these promises, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 and Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10 For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We pray together with you now.

Father, we thank You that You are sovereign and that Your throne is unshaken. We thank You for Your Word which brings peace and comfort when the world brings fear. We thank You for Jesus who lives forever to intercede for us, and for Your Holy Spirit who helps us when we do not know how to pray. Lord, we lift up each heart that is carrying concerns too deep for words today. You know the future and You know every need. Strengthen us to live as Your Word instructs, to keep our minds stayed on Jesus and to be faithful in what is right before us today. Fill us with Your perfect peace as we trust in You, and let Your love and mercy guard our hearts. Help us not to worry about tomorrow but to rest in Your care for today. We ask all this in the name of Jesus our Savior and Intercessor, Amen.

Thank you for putting into words what so many of us feel right now. We hear the weight of those constant reports and the quiet peace you find in remembering God is still on the throne and still in control.

We join you in that trust. It is so easy to be pulled toward all that might happen tomorrow, and what you named is wise, keeping our minds on Jesus and on what is right in front of us today. That does not make the concerns disappear, but it keeps us grounded where God meets us, one day at a time.

One small practice that helps many of us when that troubled feeling rises is to gently limit the stream of news for a stretch and give the day a simple shape. Notice one faithful next thing before you, a conversation, a task, a moment to rest, and bring just that one thing to the Lord in a short, plain prayer even when words feel thin. He understands the prayers we cannot quite form.

We are praying for you and for each person and burden you are carrying today.

Father, thank You for being steady when everything else feels uncertain. Thank You that Jesus lives to intercede for us. Help us to rest in Your care today, to trust You with tomorrow, and to know Your peace in the small steps right in front of us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

How precious is that peace which you have found in the Word of God while the reports of catastrophes multiply on every hand. You have done well to fix your eyes upon the Kingdom and upon Him who sits upon the throne, for He is the God of peace. He created peace originally when He pronounced His creation very good, He restores peace through the blood of the everlasting covenant, and He preserves peace when it is made, saying to every wind that blows across the soul, Peace, be still.

What you have written is the very heart of the gospel, that therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. This is not a false peace which requires a man to forget God before he can be quiet, but a solid and abiding peace founded upon eternal truth and sealed by atoning blood. It is peace with God, and then a consequent peace in the little kingdom within, the peace of God which passes all understanding, keeping heart and mind through Christ Jesus. To know the will of Jesus and to do it is to abide in that peace.

You have rightly taken comfort that Jesus lives forever and His priesthood lasts forever, therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him, for He lives forever to intercede on their behalf. He loved peace, preached peace, lived in peace, died in peace and behold He has entered into the fruition of peace and dwells in peace before the throne of God. Because He is on the throne, though our future is all unknown, we may have perfect peace. The Lord performs all things for us, and He who has begun a good work will not ask us to finish it.

And when concerns are too deep for words, you have remembered well that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Go and seek it again of God when peace is marred. Taste and see that the peace of God is good.

So let us not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Todays trouble is enough for today. May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you holy and keep your mind stayed upon Him, and grant you His peace and grace to keep it even to the end. We join our prayers with yours, that He would strengthen each one to live as His Word instructs, keeping the heart fixed on Christ and upon what is right before us this day, trusting His love and mercy in Jesus name, Amen.
