🌾True Laborers: Areas Hit by Earthquakes/Wars/Floods/Typhoons/Volcanic Eruptions, Edify Church, Widows, Orphans, Volcanic Eruptions...

We join you in this prayer and give thanks for your burden for the harvest. The Lord Himself said the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, and He commands us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers. Though He first sent only twelve, He made them many by giving them power, and He still does so today when faithful men and women give themselves to the work.

Your request for the church in lands shaken by war, earthquake, flood, typhoon, volcanic eruption and famine is right and timely. We pray with you for Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Colombia, Philippines, Nepal and every other place where people suffer, and for those places that will be impacted next. As Joseph was given wisdom to prepare in advance, so we ask God to raise up laborers beforehand who will be ready in worship, in love, in study, in preaching and in teaching.

We also pray with you for widows and orphans, for that is pure religion before God. Scripture teaches that to honor widows means to care for them and to supply what they need. The widow indeed, who is desolate and left alone, trusts in God, and her patience is a crown. Her tears have great power before heaven, and God calls Himself the Father of orphans and Judge of widows. The same is true for those who labor in the Word. The Scripture says you shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain, and the laborer is worthy of his reward. This does not mean a life of luxury or idleness, but a simple provision of food and clothing so that those who rule well and give themselves to the Word and to prayer are not distracted by lesser cares, but give their lives for the sheep as the Good Shepherd did. Let us not strip widows and orphans and then think to honor God with gold alone. He desires our souls to be offered, made clean and golden by obedience.

Therefore we ask God to raise up men and women filled with the Spirit, as Joel promised, to found missions, orphanages and schools that hold fast to true doctrine and whose goal is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. We ask Him to guard all believers, young and old, from deception, from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power, and from those who profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds. May He strengthen His people to be diligent workmen who accurately handle the word of truth, washed and sanctified by the Word of Christ, and overcoming the ancient serpent, the father of lies, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, not clinging to this earthly life but confident in the resurrection.

We do not ask Him to take His church out of the world, but to keep her from the evil one, that the gospel may go forth purely and boldly, be received, and bear fruit, and that the gates of hell may not prevail against the church He is building in every nation. May He make His people ready, clothed in the righteous acts of those He has made holy, until He comes.

We continue to pray with you to this end in the name of Jesus, that God will be glorified and many will be brought into His kingdom.

Your burden for the harvest and for those suffering through earthquakes, wars, floods, storms and eruptions is deeply biblical, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

Jesus looked at the crowds with compassion and said the harvest truly is great but the laborers are few, and He told His disciples to pray that the Lord of the harvest would send forth laborers into His harvest. He said this more than once, whether among those who were despised and overlooked or in other regions that were ready to be reaped. The need you describe is exactly that kind of moment. People are scattered and confused about God, and the fields are ripe now. So we pray as He commanded, asking the Lord to raise up and send faithful men and women, and we also hear in that prayer His call to go, for often as we pray for workers we find He is sending us to take part as well.

You also prayed for the church under pressure, and for widows and orphans. History shows that persecution never destroys the true church. It separates what is real from what is not, it causes genuine believers to take their stand, their faith grows exceedingly and their love for one another abounds and binds them together. The church has often expanded rapidly under hardship, and grown cold when pressure eased. So we pray not only for relief from suffering, but that in every place of trial the Lord would strengthen the true believers, that their faith would be deepened and their love made more fervent, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against the church He is building in any nation.

Part of that strengthening is a love for the truth. Jesus warned to take heed that no one deceive us, and the apostles warned of those who have a form of godliness but deny its power, and who profess to know God but deny Him by their deeds, and of evil men and impostors who grow worse in the last days. The only safeguard is to be diligent to rightly handle the word of truth, to be washed by the sanctifying word of Christ and to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony, holding eternal life more dearly than earthly comfort. We pray with you that God would guard young and old from the lies of the enemy, the ancient serpent and father of lies, and keep His people from fear and wrongdoing, and that He would raise up works that teach sound doctrine whose goal is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

We also pray for what you asked concerning provision and preparation, that as God once gave warning so that provision could be made beforehand, He would give wisdom to His people now to be ready to help and to share the gospel. We pray for those who labor together in the gospel, whether seen or unseen, for all who are fellow laborers share in the reward when the harvest is gathered. At the end of the age the harvest will be fully reaped and the Lord will separate what the enemy has sown from the true wheat, but until then we are to sow bountifully and leave gleanings for the poor and the stranger, remembering pure religion that visits widows and orphans in their distress.

So we ask the Father not to take His people out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one, to let the gospel go forth purely and boldly and be received, and to deliver them from evil and unbelieving people. We ask Him to establish the church in every afflicted region you named and in every place yet to be affected, to make her ready by the righteous acts of those Jesus has made holy, and to raise up laborers for worship, love, study, preaching and teaching who will edify the body and found faithful works for the next generation. We thank Him that He hears, and we trust Him to answer in Jesus name.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for true laborers to be raised up and sent into areas hit by earthquakes, wars, floods, typhoons and volcanic eruptions.

We continue to join with you in asking the Father to raise up, disciple and send forth laborers into Ukraine, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Columbia, Philippines, Nepal and every other area impacted by famine, wars, earthquakes, persecution and floods, and to prepare in advance those areas that will yet be impacted, as you reminded us in John 14:29 and Gen 41:25. We agree with you for the edifying of the Church, for the care of widows and orphans according to James 1:27, and for missions and schools that teach true doctrine and whose goal is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith according to 1 Tim 1:5.

We also continue to pray that the Lord would strengthen worship, love, study, preaching and teaching among these laborers, and guard all believers young and old from deception as warned in Matt 24:4, from evil people and impostors in these last days as in 2 Tim 3:13, and from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power as in 2 Tim 3:5. We ask Him to help Your people to study and accurately handle Your Word according to 2 Tim 2:15, to overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony according to Rev 12:11, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against the church You are building there and in all nations according to Matt 16:18, and that the gospel would go forth purely and boldly and be received according to Eph 6:19 and 2 Thes 3:1.

We are grateful for your faithful intercession in line with Matt 9:37 and Matt 9:38. If your request was answered and you have seen laborers raised up, churches edified, or provision for those suffering, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name.
