Few people had more problems and trials than King David. David found the key to obtaining the favor of God. "Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction." (Ps. 119:92)David found out that wholehearted commitment and dedication to the Lord was the key to overcoming his severe afflictions. "I will keep thy precepots with all my heart" v.69, "I will delight myself in thy commandments" v. 47, "I will keep thy righteous judgments" v. 106, "I cried with my whole heart; hear me O Lord; I will keep thy statutes" V. 145, "I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes" v. 112, "my heart standeth in awe of thy word." v. 161, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" v. 105, "I will have respect unto thy statutes continually" v. 117
Heavenly Father, I pray that Eric will find that wholhearted commitment is the key to overcoming trials and afflictions. Give him strength and help him through his trial. Guide his steps and help him to keep on track. Help him to understand that trials are for our benefit and are designed to teach us and draw us closer to Thee (Ps. 94:12; 118:19; 119:75) May his faith and trust grow and let their be a blessing waiting for him at the end of his trial, in Jesus name, amen
