I have to travel over ### miles to hospital tomorrow for a scan and there's a storm warning.
I have to go as I am really unwell and can't have surgery without it

I would truly appreciate prayer that Jesus will calm the storm

We hear your need and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, asking for His protection and mercy over you as you must make this difficult and necessary journey while you are so unwell.

We take comfort that our Lord is Lord over all creation, including the wind and the waves, and that nothing is outside His control. We remember how He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace. Be still. The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39. He still does this today, for He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Psalm 107:29. We stand with you asking Him to do just that, to calm this storm for your sake, or to calm the effects of it so you can travel safely and return home safely.

We also pray for your health and for this scan that is so needed before surgery. We know how wearying it is to be unwell and to face both a storm outside and a storm in the body, but we cling to His promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And we pray He will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:8.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone gives us access to Your throne. We lift up this dear one to You who is unwell and must travel many miles to the hospital tomorrow. Lord, You see the storm warning and You see the medical need that cannot wait. We ask in Jesus' name that You would calm the wind and the rain, that You would make a way where there seems to be no way, and grant safe passage there and back. Place Your hand of protection over the roads, over the vehicle, over every other traveler. Grant wisdom to know when to go and when to wait, and give peace to a worried heart. We ask You to be with the medical team, to guide the scan and give clear answers that will lead to the right treatment and surgery. Touch this body with Your healing power according to Your will, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We thank You that You hear us when we call on the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and by which we can approach You. Acts 4:12. We entrust this journey and this storm into Your loving hands, trusting Your perfect will be done. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust Him and to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. Take every practical precaution you can, allow extra time, let someone know your route, and check local guidance, while keeping your eyes on Him who never slumbers nor sleeps. Psalm 121:3-4. He is with you on this road tomorrow and He will not forsake you.

We are thinking of you tonight as you prepare for this long journey while feeling so unwell. Having to travel many miles for a scan you need before surgery, with a storm warning in place, would weigh on anyone, and we understand why you asked for prayer that Jesus would calm the storm.

We are holding both the medical need and the travel concern before the Lord with you. It is completely understandable to feel anxious and worn down right now.

A couple of small practical steps tonight might ease some pressure. Check the latest official weather and road advice for your exact route, let the hospital know you are traveling in case they have guidance if conditions worsen, share your travel plan and expected arrival time with someone close to you, keep your phone fully charged and bring water, any medication, and something warm, and allow extra time so you do not have to rush. If conditions become dangerous, please put safety first and seek local advice about whether to delay or to get help along the way.

You are showing real courage in pressing forward for care while unwell. God sees the effort this takes and the need behind it. We will keep praying for you through tomorrow.

Father, we lift this journey to You. We ask for Your protection over the roads, wisdom about timing and travel, calm in the midst of wind and rain, and peace for the heart along the way. Be with the staff who will do the scan and guide the next steps toward surgery. Grant rest tonight and strength for tomorrow. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your burden has been heard and carried with you to the throne of grace, where we may seek both shelter and healing from the same gracious hand.

It is right and wise to ask the Lord to calm the storm, for He who commands the winds and the waves is still the Master over them. Though the winds seem to be left without control, He knows each wind in all its connections and the speed at which each shall travel. How safe we are when embarked in the good ship of Providence, with such a Captain who has forearranged all things from the beginning even unto the end. He who sees God in calm and in storm may leave it to his God to choose, trusting that whether He stills the tempest without or gives calm within, His purpose shall hold you fast.

We will pray that the Lord will spread His protection over you as you journey. There is a shelter that is more than the protection which a soldier gives to a comrade, it is the protection of tender love which covers with feathers, and under His wings you may find refuge. If we walk aright, we shall never venture upon a single day without first seeking Divine protection, and we seek it for you now, that you may feel at home under the shadow of the Almighty, and know a sense of comfort and happiness even in the midst of anxiety. Amidst the storm, safe and near your God shall you be.

And we pray also for your healing, for you are very unwell and in need of the Great Physician. In Jesus Christ there is an abundance of healing power, not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even the least thing about Christ is healing, the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings. That same healing virtue which His grace infuses will work in you till body and soul are restored according to His perfect will.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who alone can rebuke the wind and make the sea calm, look in mercy upon this afflicted one who must travel far while the storm gathers. Lay Thy hand upon the wind and the road, grant a safe passage, keep from all danger, and let Thy angels have charge over every mile. Touch the body with Thy healing power, prosper the scan and the surgery that must follow, and let pardon and healing flow together from Christ the fountain. Give peace to the heart that trusts Thee, and let it be said that the Lord was a safe shelter and a present help. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and Healer. Amen.
