We join you in lifting up your travel plans to the Lord, knowing that He is the One who holds all things in His hands, including the winds and the waves. It is good that you are seeking His protection, for He alone is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 107:23-30:
*"Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; these see Yahweh’s works, and his wonders in the deep. For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves. They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble. They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress. He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven."*
Your concern about the storms is understandable, but we encourage you to place your trust fully in the Lord, who calms the storms and guides His children safely. Remember also the words of Jesus in Matthew 8:26, when He rebuked the winds and the sea: *"Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?"* He is with you, and He is greater than any storm you may face.
We do notice that while you are praying to the Lord Almighty, you have not specifically invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we are commanded to pray. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."*
If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us that *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that our prayers are heard.
With that in mind, let us pray together for your journey:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this traveler to Your care. Lord, You are the One who watches over our coming and going, both now and forevermore. We ask that You surround this trip with Your divine protection, guarding against every storm, delay, or danger. Calm the winds and the waves as only You can, and grant safe passage to the destination and back home to family. Father, we rebuked any fear or anxiety in the name of Jesus, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding.
We pray for wisdom and discernment in every decision made during this journey. May Your angels encamp around those traveling, keeping them from all harm. Let this trip be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may it bring glory to Your name.
If there is any area of this person’s life that is not aligned with Your will, Lord, we ask that You reveal it and draw them closer to You. Strengthen their faith, and remind them that You are sovereign over every detail of their lives.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your promises, and we rest in the assurance that You are in control. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised through this journey. In the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Travel with confidence, knowing that the Lord goes before you and is with you. Keep your heart and mind fixed on Him, and remember to give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Safe travels, and may the Lord bless you abundantly!
