Disciple of Prayer
I want my father who is at Italy to come and take me to Italy with him

We hear your heart’s longing to be with your father, and we understand the deep desire for family unity, especially across distances. The Lord places great value on family and the bonds He has ordained between parents and children. Scripture tells us, "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12 WEB). Your desire to be with your father reflects a godly longing for connection and care.

However, we must also bring before the Lord the practical and spiritual aspects of this situation. Travel and relocation involve not only logistical challenges but also God’s will for your life. Have you sought the Lord’s guidance in prayer about whether this move aligns with His plans for you? Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." We encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in this matter, asking Him to open doors if this is His will and to close them if it is not.

We also lift up your father before the Lord. Is he walking in faith, and does he share your desire for this move to be rooted in God’s purposes? If he is not yet a believer, we pray for his salvation, that he would come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father in prayer. If your father does not yet know Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him to repentance and faith.

If your father is a believer, we pray that he would lead your family in a way that honors God, seeking His will in all things. We also pray for your relationship with him, that it would be strengthened in Christ and that you both would grow in wisdom and discernment as you navigate this decision.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one and their father. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and You care deeply about family and unity. We ask that You would guide them in this matter, making Your will clear. If it is Your plan for them to be together in Italy, we pray that You would open every door, provide the resources, and grant favor in the process. If it is not Your will, we ask that You would close the doors gently and reveal Your better plan for their lives.

Father, we also pray for this one’s father. If he does not yet know You, we ask that You would draw him to salvation through Jesus Christ. Soften his heart, open his eyes to the truth, and let him experience Your love and grace. If he is already a believer, we pray that You would strengthen his faith and give him wisdom to lead his family according to Your Word.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, or doubt that may be trying to cloud this situation. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). We trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to involve godly counsel in this decision. If there are legal or financial obstacles, bring them before the Lord as well, trusting Him to provide. Remember, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). As you delight in Him, He will align your desires with His perfect will.

It’s hard to be apart from a parent, especially when the distance feels like more than just miles. That ache you’re carrying, the hope that your father will come and bring you to Italy, makes so much sense. Family is meant to be close, and when we’re separated, the longing can be heavy.

While you wait and wonder, maybe a practical step would be to write your father a letter or have a conversation, if you haven’t already, and share honestly what’s in your heart. Sometimes just putting the hope into words, and hearing his response, can ease the uncertainty even before you know exactly what comes next. And as much as you’re able, try to root yourself in the daily kindness of God’s presence right where you are. He is with you in the in-between spaces, holding you steady.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this son or daughter who misses their father deeply and longs to be with him in Italy. You care about every detail of our lives, including where we live and whom we live beside. Please guide this situation, and if it’s Your will, make a way for them to be reunited safely. Protect the father in his travels and work, and settle this child’s heart with peace that trusts Your timing. In the meantime, meet the loneliness with Your comfort, and surround them with people who feel like family. We ask this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

Your soul breaks with longing, and that is no small thing. Yet consider the true object of such intense desire. Is it merely to cross the sea and dwell in ### with an earthly ###, or is there a deeper cry beneath it, a homesickness for a Father who never fails? The heart often mistakes the shadow for the substance. You pant for a ###'s presence, but the God who made you has planted that yearning so you might seek Him who is the Everlasting Father, the Father of mercies, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ through whom every earthly relationship is but a dim parable. Do not settle for the lesser. If your ### will not come, if he cannot take you, still there is One who says, “I will be a Father unto you, and you shall be My sons and daughters.” He is not bound by borders or hindered by human will. Seek Him first, and all other longings will find their proper place.

Yet the request is not wrong in itself; a daughter’s desire to be with her ### reflects a natural affection which God Himself implants. But bring it to the throne in full surrender. Lay your wish before the Father of lights with whom is no variableness, and say, “Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.” If the Lord intends to give you the desire of your heart, He will first make you willing to wait, willing to have it denied, willing above all to have Himself instead. What if the closed door in ### becomes the open window into deeper fellowship with Christ? He knows how to give good gifts, and sometimes the better portion is the breaking of the heart that pants after His commandments. Trust your heavenly Father, who hears the desire of the humble. He will prepare your heart, and when the time is right, He will cause His own ear to hear.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heart aches from separation, and the natural longing for your father’s presence is keenly felt, like an orphan reaching for a parent, as the blessed Paul once described. Yet hear this: the same Apostle, though torn from his beloved, counted the parting as “for a short time, in presence, not in heart,” and found his solace not in a swift reunion, but in the God of all comfort. If your father is in Italy, God is everywhere. Do not let this desire become a fever that blinds you to the Father of mercies, who quickens the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

Have you considered whether this hunger to cross the sea is for your soul’s health or merely for earthly solace? The disciple who wished to bury his father heard the hard word: Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead. I do not forbid the journey if God opens the door, but I tremble when a request for travel abroad becomes a demand of the heart, postponing your true calling. First, make your heart Italy to God, be there fully, in faith and obedience, and then, if it pleases Him, He will bring you and your father together according to His will, not yours.

For what profit is it to gain a father’s house and lose the mansions of heaven? Let your prayer be: Thy will be done, and then neither land nor sea can separate you from His love.

Your longing to be with your father, to have him come and bring you to where he is, stirs something very deep in the human heart. It speaks of home, belonging, and the safety of a father’s presence. These desires are not wasted; they echo a far greater reality God has woven into our souls.

You see, there is a Father who is always near, yet so many live as though He is distant. Jesus came to change that. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Every earthly father, no matter how good or how far away, can only point us toward that perfect Father. The ache you feel for your dad in ### is meant to awaken in you an ache for your heavenly Father, who longs to gather you to Himself.

Think of that young man who told Jesus, “I will follow you, but first let me go bury my father.” It wasn’t an emergency; it was a delay. So often we let the realness of family ties, however precious, keep us from the one thing needful. Jesus calls us to love Him above every earthly bond. That doesn’t mean you stop loving your father, but it does mean you first and fully come to the Father through Christ. When that relationship is right, every other relationship finds its proper place.

Maybe you’ve thought, “If only my father would come and take me with him, I’d be settled.” But what if the true homecoming is the Father sending His Son to bring you to Himself? Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” The deepest invitation is not to a place on earth but to the Father’s house, through Jesus.

So bring this desire to God. Talk to your Father in heaven, in Jesus’ name. He loves you with a perfect love, a love that saw you while you were still far off, just as the father saw the prodigal son and ran to embrace him. You have direct access to Him because of what Christ has done. Let this longing for an earthly reunion become a path that leads you into a vibrant, daily walk with the One who will never leave you nor forsake you.

If you’ve never truly surrendered to Jesus and through Him come to the Father, today is the day. If you have, then rest in that nearness even as you pray about your travels. Let the Father’s will be your deepest home.
