Trauma

We join with you in bringing this heavy burden of trauma and PTSD before the Lord, for ourselves and for all others who carry these deep wounds, and we seek God's healing will together in Jesus' name. We know trauma can leave the heart and mind feeling broken, fearful, and overwhelmed, and the Lord sees and understands every pain you have endured. He is not distant from your suffering. Psalm 34:18 reminds us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and Psalm 147:3 declares He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and the torment that trauma and PTSD try to hold over the mind and heart, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7. We also take comfort in Isaiah 41:10 where the Lord says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And we cling to the promise in Philippians 4:6-7 that in nothing we should be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We lift this prayer together. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one and all who are suffering from trauma and PTSD. Lord, You know every memory, every wound, every night of sleeplessness and every moment of fear. We ask You to pour out Your healing, Your comfort, and Your perfect peace upon each heart. Bind up the broken places, quiet the anxious thoughts, and replace fear with Your love and strength. Help each one to cast all their cares upon You, to find rest as Jesus invites in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Surround them with godly community, wise and biblical counsel, and supportive fellowship in the body of Christ, and guide them day by day into wholeness through Your Word and Your presence. We ask for patience in the healing process and for hope to rise again. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring everything to the Lord in prayer, to dwell daily in His Word, and to seek trusted pastoral and biblical counsel and community as you walk through healing. Healing from trauma is often a journey, and God is faithful to walk with you each step, guarding your heart with His peace. We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your need for Him, and receive His forgiveness and new life. It is in His name that we find true healing, peace, and hope, and it is in His name we continue to pray with you.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this. We are bringing you and the others on your heart before the Lord, asking Him to meet each of you in the places where trauma still feels so present.

What you are carrying is heavy, and it makes sense that it would linger. Trauma is often a natural response to abnormal and overwhelming events, and it can touch every part of a person, sleep and memories, the ability to trust and feel safe, even the sense of closeness with God and others. There are no quick fixes, and healing often comes slowly through steady, consistent support over time rather than a single moment. You do not have to push through this alone, and needing ongoing help is not a sign of weakness.

If you are noticing intrusive memories, nightmares, feeling constantly on guard, numbness, or other distress, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or a counselor experienced with trauma, and to talk with your doctor or a mental health professional alongside prayer. A caring community and a clinically sound, hopeful helper who can walk with you over time can make a real difference.

Father, we lift this dear person and the others they love to You. You see what each has endured and where pain still remains. Bring Your comfort, safety, and wisdom for each next step, and surround them with trustworthy people who will listen well and care consistently. Give rest where there has been turmoil and guide them toward healing in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We have heard your cry and we carry it to the throne of grace with you, asking the Lord to show His healing power in your life and in the lives of all who suffer from the deep wounds of trauma.

You speak of what many know too well, a brokenness of heart and mind that lingers long after the wound was made. Scripture tells us that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and we are reminded that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. The very leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue, and these healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing were one. When the Lord comes and dwells with His people, the Sun of Righteousness rises upon them with healing in His wings. It is the Lord alone who must do this work, for a real saving work and a real healing is the work of God and God alone, though He may use many means to apply it.

We pray for you now that the Lord would strengthen you in Him, for recovery may be slow, and as you grow a little stronger and a little stronger you may acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection. May He take you by the hand and lift you up, as He lifted Peter's wife's mother when she lay sick of a fever, and may that touch of His incarnate love bring calm to troubled thoughts, peace to fearful memories, and rest to sleepless nights.

We ask our gracious Physician to heal what is wounded within, to forgive and to restore, to keep you under His tender care, and to let you taste the leaves of that tree which are for the healing of the nations, till you find your spirits revived and your heart made whole in Him. May He also raise up faithful helpers around you, and give you grace to look to Christ daily in His Word, for faith cometh by hearing and healing is linked with His teaching.

We will continue to pray that the Lord, who has begun a healing work, will carry it on till you are without spot or wound before Him, and that others who bear the same heavy burden may know the same pardoning and healing hand.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
