Disciple of Prayer
Been real tired and getting lazy, I need to train 6 nights a week please pray for focus discipline self control determination

We hear your struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this matter before the Lord. Fatigue and laziness can creep in when we rely on our own strength rather than God’s. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." It is not by our own willpower alone that we overcome weariness or lack of discipline, but by surrendering to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to renew our strength.

We must also recognize that discipline is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and self-control is a gift from God. When we feel weak, we can turn to Him and say, as the psalmist did in Psalm 119:28, "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word." The Lord does not call us to exhaustion but to faithfulness, He will sustain you as you seek Him first.

Let us also address the root of this struggle. Laziness is not merely a physical issue but a spiritual one. Proverbs 13:4 warns, "The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied." If we are not careful, complacency can take hold, and we may begin to neglect the gifts and responsibilities God has given us. But we serve a God who equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). If training is part of your calling, whether for health, ministry, or preparation for God’s purposes, then we must approach it with diligence, not as a burden, but as an act of worship.

Now, let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that without You, we can do nothing. Lord, we lift up this brother/sister who is feeling weary and struggling with discipline. Father, You see their heart and their desire to honor You with their time and efforts. We ask that You would renew their strength, as You promise in Isaiah 40:31: 'But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.'

Lord, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in self-control and determination. Remove any spirit of laziness or distraction that is hindering their progress. Help them to see their training not as a chore, but as an opportunity to steward the body You have given them for Your glory. Give them focus, discipline, and perseverance, and let them experience the joy of Your presence as they press on.

We also pray for balance, Father. Remind them that while discipline is important, so is rest. Teach them to rely on You in their weakness and to find their strength in You alone. May they grow in faith and endurance, trusting that You are working in them and through them.

In Jesus’ name, we rebuke any spirit of weariness or discouragement that seeks to derail their progress. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Jesus. Amen."

We encourage you to start each training session with prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to empower you. Memorize scriptures that speak to discipline and strength, such as 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, and meditate on them when you feel tempted to quit. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you and hold you accountable. And remember, God is not looking for perfection, He is looking for a heart that is willing to surrender and obey.

Lastly, examine your priorities. Are you training for the right reasons? Are you seeking God’s will in this area of your life? If this training is part of God’s calling for you, then He will provide the strength and endurance you need. But if it is driven by selfish ambition or comparison to others, it may be time to realign your motives with His word. Seek Him first, and all these things will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33). You are not alone in this battle, we are standing with you, and more importantly, God is fighting for you. Press on!

It's encouraging that you're reaching out about this, you clearly care about being disciplined and focused, and that desire matters. We hear the frustration in being tired and feeling like laziness is creeping in. Training six nights a week is a big goal, and we want to stand with you in it without piling on pressure.

One thing we've seen helps is to get curious about what’s behind the tiredness. Sometimes our bodies are telling us something we need to listen to. If the fatigue is persistent, a medical check-up can be a wise step, not because we doubt your determination, but because true self-control includes stewarding the body God gave you well. Rest isn't laziness; it's a necessary part of any training rhythm.

You might also try breaking down those six nights into smaller, realistic targets. Maybe track when your energy dips and what's happening at the time, not to chart every detail, but to notice patterns. Even a simple note like “felt drained after work” or “skipped dinner” can help you adjust rather than just push through. That kind of honest self-awareness is itself a form of discipline, and it often makes focus more sustainable.

We're praying alongside you now:

Lord, you know this person’s desire to honor you with their body and their time. Please grant them steady focus and the kind of self-control that works from rest, not just from willpower. Give them wisdom to recognize what their body needs, and the determination to keep showing up without running themselves into the ground. Surround them with your strength on the tired nights, and let them sense your presence in the effort. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You find yourself weary and sluggish, and you desire the grace of focus and determination for your nightly training. This very groaning under a sense of your own weakness is a healthy sign. Self-will usually lies at the root of our greatest griefs. Give way, and you have won! Yield to God and you have obtained the blessing you desire. The bitterness is gone out of your grief when you consent to be grieved if God will have it so. Come then before the Lord, not boasting in your own resolve, but laying your languor at His feet.

Take heed, though, that you do not make a new law for yourself and then seek strength to keep it, which is but a form of self-reliance. There is a great deal of self-abnegation which is not genuine; it is the offspring of self-conceit, and not of self-knowledge. The most watchful Christian is conscious of the danger of self-neglect. You cry out for discipline over your body, but be even more earnest that you keep your own vineyard, your heart, lest while you train the body you neglect communion with Christ. True perseverance is perseverance in holiness; it is the Lord’s work to keep you from departing from Him.

When the Lord has withdrawn the felt ease of zeal, it is often to do us good, by making us sick of self and eager for His love. Let this tiredness drive you to the Captain of your salvation. He knows that Heedless and Toobold are always bad pilots. Count the cost of a disciplined life, and then look to Christ for all the supply. If you do but come to Him with your weakness, He will receive you graciously and His strength shall be perfected in your lack. The righteous shall hold on his way, not because they never stumble, but because He who began a good work in them will perform it until the day of Christ. Go then to your training, and go first to your knees, and prove what it is to exchange your feeble self-discipline for His mighty keeping.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of training the body, of needing focus and self-control, and this is good. But do not imagine that such discipline belongs only to those in the stadium or the wrestling school. The Apostle says, "Watching with all perseverance and supplication," and he wrote this not to solitaries only, but to all that are in cities. The man who lives in the world has allowance in marriage alone; in all else he must do equally with the solitary.

See here the great secret of true training: it is perseverance that makes the unworthy worthy to receive. Consider the Canaanitish woman: though called a dog, she persisted, and by her constancy she obtained the bread of healing. Consider that paralytic of thirty-eight years: he remained, he attended, he withdrew not, though year after year another stepped down before him. Had he not been most persevering, would not past failures alone have driven him from the spot? Yet he stayed watchful, and the Lord saw his perseverance and came to him.

You feel tired, you feel the pull of laziness. This is the very moment for the discipline of the soul to show its might. Do not limit your striving to certain times of the day; approach it at all seasons. The importunate widow prevailed by her persistence; the friend at midnight obtained bread by his shameless asking. These all gained their object by their importunity. Your training, then, must be as a soldier encamped, leaving his tent in peace when duty calls, not as one who drifts.

But know this: if your body trains, let your soul train all the more. The food of the mystery we often take unworthily; we envy, we revile, some have been drunk. Each of these by itself casts us out of the kingdom; how much more when they come together? You will need much penitence, much prayer, much endurance, much perseverance, that you may attain the good things promised. Let your six nights be joined to ceaseless prayer, for it is in the Spirit that true determination is forged. Then you will find the yoke easy, not by slackness, but by the constancy that calls forth the Lord's compassion.
