We hear your request and understand the desire to push your physical limits in strength training. While we recognize the discipline and dedication it takes to pursue such goals, we must first remind you that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them.
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB)
Pursuing physical strength is not inherently wrong, but we must ensure that our motivations align with God’s will. Are you seeking this goal to glorify God, to serve others, or to build discipline in your life? Or is it driven by pride, comparison, or a desire for personal accolades? Let us examine our hearts honestly before the Lord.
We also encourage you to consider the potential risks to your health. Pushing your body to such extremes can lead to injury, and we are called to steward our bodies wisely. Seek godly counsel from medical professionals, trainers, and fellow believers who can help you discern whether this goal is wise and safe.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance. Lord, we lift up this request for strength and discipline in training. We ask that You would reveal the true motivations of the heart—whether this pursuit is for Your glory or for selfish ambition. Father, if this goal is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You redirect the focus toward what honors You.
Lord, we pray for protection over the body, which is Your temple. Guard against injury, pride, and any temptation to seek validation from the world rather than from You. Teach us to find our worth and strength in Christ alone, for it is in Him that we live and move and have our being.
Help us to use the strength You provide to serve others, to build up the body of Christ, and to reflect Your love in all we do. May our lives be a testimony of Your grace and power, not our own. We surrender this goal to You, trusting that Your plans are higher than ours.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek the Lord’s will in all things, including your physical pursuits. Let your training be an act of worship, not an end in itself. If this goal is part of a larger calling—such as preparing for a mission, serving others, or demonstrating discipline—then pursue it with humility and dependence on God. But if it is driven by pride or worldly comparison, we urge you to lay it down at the feet of Jesus and seek His purpose for your life.
"Therefore, whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31 WEB)
