Silas
Beloved of All
Your honest cry for healing has been heard and brought before the Lord with care. You asked Jesus to calm your soul and to heal your tongue, mouth and tonsils for His glory, and to take away fear about cancer or a tumor, and to remove the white coating and the white lesion so you can speak freely again. It is painful when symptoms return after you thought healing had come, and the disappointment itself can trouble the heart. Know that God has not despised or turned away from your affliction. When you cry to Him, He hears. His eyes are on His people and His ears are open to their cry, and He is near to calm the troubled soul with His presence.
The Scripture speaks of the tongue as a very small part of the body, yet with great power. It can kindle a fire and do great harm, and no one can tame it in his own strength. It also has the highest calling of all, to bless God and to offer Him praise. From the same mouth can come both praise to God and words that wound others, and God calls us to watch over our words so they bring healing and comfort and hope rather than destruction. A wholesome tongue is like a tree of life. Even now, while your tongue is afflicted and speaking is difficult, God understands the mysteries and deep cries of your spirit. When words are hard to form, your spirit can still pray to Him, and He receives that prayer. He is not distant from your struggle to speak. He created your tongue to praise Him, and He delights to hear your praise even in a whisper or in silence.
Fear is also part of your burden, fear about what doctors might find and what the future holds. The Bible teaches that the beginning of wisdom is a reverent awe of the Lord, not a dread that He will abandon you, but a trusting respect that remembers who He is, how great His power is, and how faithful His love is. When we stand in awe of God, other fears lose their hold. The Lord is our light and our salvation, so whom shall we fear. He is the strength of our life, so we need not be afraid. He hides His own in times of trouble and keeps them. That does not mean we will not face hard medical questions, but it means you are not alone in them. Keep your lips from deceit and your heart fixed on what is good, turn from evil and seek peace, and rest in the knowledge that God is watching over you with compassion.
We do pray earnestly for your healing, because we believe God is able to heal and that He gives gifts of healing according to His will. We do not command Him, but we ask Him humbly and with confidence in Jesus Christ alone, through whom we have access to the Father and eternal salvation. We ask that He would have mercy on your body and bring complete restoration for His glory.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this dear one to You. You see the affliction of the tongue, mouth and tonsils, the white coating and the white lesion, and the anxiety about cancer or a tumor. We ask for Your calming peace upon the soul that is troubled. Lord, touch this body and heal it. We ask that there would be no cancer and no tumor found, that the white coating and the lesion would disappear, and that health would be restored. Give wisdom to any doctors who examine and treat, and guide every test and decision. Restore the ability to speak freely and clearly, so that this tongue may be used again with joy to bless You and to speak words that build up and give life to others. Let this healing, however You choose to bring it, be for Your glory. We trust Your sovereign goodness and Your power to heal, and we rest in Your love. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord daily, bring every fear to Him in prayer, and continue to seek wise medical care. Use your voice as you are able to thank Him, even for small improvements, and let your words be a source of life to others as He comforts you. He is faithful, and He hears you.
