Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we join you in seeking His mercy, that He would calm your soul and heal your tongue, mouth and tonsils for His own glory.
You speak of anxiety, and of a fear that the coating and the lesion would remain, and that some graver disease might be found. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When anxiety is confined to yourself and you tell it only to yourself, no good will come of that. But to tell it to the Lord, to cast your burden upon Him, this is both duty and privilege. Labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God when it distrusts His arm. Hear what the Lord says to His people, Fear thou not for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, I will help thee. He says, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant fallen at His feet, Fear not. To be afraid when He has thus spoken is disobedience, so we pray that you may be enabled to trust His promised strength.
There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only His fruit but His leaves are full of healing virtue, to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. The Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, and when the Lord comes to dwell with His people they have no need to say, I am sick, for pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, showing that pardon and healing are one in His hand. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, and we do well to use means, but our chief hope is in the heavenly Physician Himself, who binds up and heals the wounded heart and is able also to heal the body according to His wise and loving will.
We pray now for you, that the Lord would grant you a calm and quiet spirit, resting upon His faithful care. We ask that in His mercy there may be no cancer or tumour found in your mouth or upon your tonsils, and that the white coating upon the sides of your tongue and the white lesion upon your tonsils may be removed and disappear, that you may be healed and speak freely. We ask not merely for ease, but that your tongue, which He has made, may be restored to declare His praise, and that whether by sudden healing or by gradual recovery, all may be for His glory. May He who alone can do a real saving and healing work lay His hand upon you and make you whole.
Continue to look to Christ, to hear His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and healing is linked with His teaching. Seek the Lord earnestly, seek also such help as wise physicians may give, and leave yourself in His hands, who does all things well. May He give you perfect peace as you trust in Him, and may you find that His grace forbids that painful fear and changes the gloomy night to morn.
Our Father, we bring this suffering one before Thy throne of grace. Calm the soul, forgive sin through the blood of Jesus, and if it be Thy will, heal the tongue, the mouth and the tonsils. Let no evil disease take hold, let the white coating and the lesion be taken away, and restore free speech to speak of Thy goodness. Do this for Thy glory, that Thy name may be praised.
