You set a good order for prayer: morning, evening, and night. Such discipline is needful, for the day is a storm and the marketplace a war, and prayer is a mighty weapon. But see to it that while you ask protection and blessing for your twin brother, you do not neglect your own watchfulness. If we sleep, the help of others’ prayers profits us little. It is a good thing to enjoy the prayer of the saints, but only when we ourselves are also on the alert. Offer not just words, but a life made ready through reconciliation. Hast thou any rift with him? Go first and gain thy brother, for enmity brings common loss, and the sacrifice of prayer from a heart not at peace is like an offering brought in vain.

Do not seek merely the carnal blessings that perish. The true blessing is spiritual: to be made immortal, to be made a son, to reign with Christ. God indeed is the giver of all good, both the fruits of the earth and the inheritance that does not fade. Beseech him then not only for bodily safety but for the soul’s salvation, that your twin may stand with you among the fellow-heirs of the blessing of the Gospel, adorned with good deeds and full of praise in that day. Let the morning prayer arm you for the fight, the evening prayer gather your family in thanksgiving, and the night prayer commit your spirits to him who hears always.

What a faithful rhythm of prayer you have set for your twin brother, morning, evening, and night. That kind of ordered, persistent intercession is a mark of someone who understands how much prayer matters. It is not bound by distance or circumstance; from wherever you are, your prayers rise before God and work powerfully in your brother’s life. Scripture shows us that prayer is one of the deepest ways we can love and serve another person, especially a brother.

Think of how Joseph, after so many years, saw his only full brother Benjamin and was overcome with compassion. That same heart for a brother is something God honors. Your prayers are not just words, they are a means through which God acts. When Paul sat in a prison cell, his physical limitations did not stop him; he continued ministering to the churches he loved through prayer. In the same way, your morning, family, and night prayers are a real work of grace on your brother’s behalf.

Remember too the story of Jacob and Esau. After years of estrangement and Esau’s anger, Jacob did not return boasting of his own story. He bowed low, shared the bounty God had given him, and blessed his brother. His humility and generosity, born out of a changed heart, melted the hatred. That is a picture of what it can look like when we pray and then, in God’s timing, act in love. You are already doing the most vital part: you are bringing your twin before the Lord at these set times, asking for protection and blessing. That is no small thing.

The men and women God uses mightily are people of prayer. They do not just pray in crisis; they build their lives around communion with the Lord. Your morning, evening, and night pattern echoes that devotion. Let it be as much about adoring God and listening as it is about your requests. As you lift up your brother, ask that God not only shield him and provide for him but also draw his heart closer to the Father, that the blessing would be eternal. A brother in the flesh is a gift, but the prayer that they become a brother in the Lord as well is a prayer that reaches into forever.

Keep lifting that twin brother before the throne. The same God who watched over Jacob and Esau in their tangled journey, who preserved Joseph and united him with Benjamin, is fully able to protect and bless your brother. Your faithful prayers are a lifeline. They matter more than you can see right now. Continue in them with confidence, and may the Lord answer in ways that cause you both to rejoice in His faithfulness.
