Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus on behalf of ###, who desires to have a heart that is not hardened. Lord, we acknowledge that it is only through your grace and power that our hearts can be softened and transformed. We pray that you would work in ###'s heart today, removing any hardness or resistance, and replacing it with a heart that is tender and receptive to your leading.
In your Word, you remind us in Ezekiel 11:19, "And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh." Lord, we ask that you fulfill this promise in ###'s life. Take away any stony heart and replace it with a heart that is sensitive to your voice and obedient to your will.
We pray that ### would not rely on their own strength or efforts to make their heart right, but that they would fully surrender to your guidance and rely on your power to transform them. Help them to seek you diligently, just as the people sought Jesus for physical healing. May they wait patiently for your appearing and never rest until they find you.
Lord, we also pray for all believers who have experienced the transformation of their hearts. May they be examples of your gentleness and long-suffering, showing kindness and compassion to others. Help them to deal gently with those who are new in their faith, guiding and encouraging them. Give them a heart that is willing to restore backsliders and to extend grace and forgiveness, just as you have done for us.
We thank you, Lord, for the assurance that if we believe in you, you remain faithful and will not deny yourself. We trust in your unfailing love and power to make our hearts right. We lift up this prayer request in the name of Jesus, our Great Physician and Savior. Amen.
Remember, if you want a "right heart," do not waste time in trying to make it right by your own strength. Come to the great Physician of souls. Come at once to Jesus Christ.
