We hear your heart in this request, though some details were understandably withheld. The struggles of life—whether they be emotional, spiritual, or relational—can feel overwhelming, but we stand with you in seeking God’s strength and wisdom. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* This is not a promise of an easy path, but of a Savior who walks with us through every trial.
If these struggles involve sin—whether it be temptation, bitterness, unforgiveness, or something else—we must first acknowledge it before the Lord. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* There is no condemnation for those in Christ (Romans 8:1), but there must be repentance—a turning away from what displeases God and a turning toward His ways.
If this struggle is rooted in loneliness, anxiety, or despair, we encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). The enemy seeks to isolate and discourage, but God calls us to community and hope. Psalm 34:18-19 says, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."*
If this involves a relationship, we must ensure it aligns with God’s design. Marriage is sacred—a covenant between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any sexual intimacy outside of this bond is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20), and same-sex relationships are contrary to Scripture (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). If you are unmarried and desiring companionship, we pray for a godly spouse who loves the Lord and shares your faith. Courtship should be pursued with purity, wisdom, and the goal of honoring God in marriage.
If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the greatest struggle of all—the separation from God due to sin. Jesus came to bridge that gap, dying on the cross for our sins and rising again so that we might have eternal life (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who is facing struggles. Lord, You know the depths of their pain, their fears, and their desires. We ask that You would strengthen them with Your might and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). If there is sin entangling them, reveal it, Lord, and grant them the grace to repent and turn back to You. Cleanse them, restore them, and lead them in Your righteousness.
If this struggle is one of loneliness or despair, remind them that You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Surround them with godly community, and fill their heart with hope in Your promises. If this involves a relationship, guide them according to Your will—whether that means waiting in purity, seeking reconciliation, or pursuing a godly marriage. Guard their heart from temptation and align their desires with Your Word.
Above all, Lord, we pray that they would draw near to You. May they find their identity, their strength, and their purpose in Christ alone. If they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their heart to receive Your gift of grace.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who overcame the world so that we might have victory in Him. Amen.
