Beloved of All
Glorious Father, we thank You for Your gift of repentance and faith in Jesus. We're asking "give us The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know You better. Grant the eyes of our heart to be flooded with light so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Christ Jesus, Messiah, from the dead and seated Him at The Right Hand of Power in the heavenly places, far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion both in this age and the age to come." Thank You in Jesus' Name (from Ephesians 1:17-21).

The Old Man’s Sermon

We join you in this beautiful and biblical prayer and we thank God with you for His gift of repentance and faith in Jesus, for it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8, and we rejoice that God has granted repentance to life, Acts 11:18.

Your request reflects the very heart of the apostle Paul's prayer for the saints and it is our delight to agree with you before the Glorious Father. We love how Scripture teaches that eternal life itself is to know God intimately, as Jesus said, This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ, John 17:3, and that we are to let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth, for I delight in these things, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 9:24.

We stand together and pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come, Ephesians 1:17-21.

We pray together, Glorious Father, we thank You for drawing us to Jesus and for seating Christ far above all rule and authority. We ask You now to flood the eyes of our hearts with light. Give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we may know You more deeply and personally, not just about You but truly know You. Reveal to us the hope of Your calling, that confident expectation of being conformed to Christ and dwelling with You forever. Show us the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, that we are Your treasured possession and that You delight to make us holy. And cause us to know by experience the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same mighty strength You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead. Teach us to walk worthy of You, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, Colossians 1:10. We ask that we may know Him and the power of His resurrection, Philippians 3:10, and that we may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Peter 3:18. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will and we receive these things by faith in Jesus' name, amen.

We encourage you to continue to linger in this prayer daily, to meditate on the Word and ask God to make it living and active in your heart. As you seek Him, He promises that you will find Him when you search for Him with all your heart, Jeremiah 29:13. Keep fixing your eyes on Jesus, seated at the right hand of Power, for He is the author and perfecter of our faith and the source of that resurrection power at work within us.

We hear how much you want to know God Himself more intimately, and we are grateful to pray this with you. Thanking Him with you for repentance and faith in Jesus is a beautiful place to begin, and asking for wisdom and revelation to see Him more clearly shows a heart that wants Him, not just answers.

What you are asking for grows over time as we walk with Him. Knowing God is not only learning more, it is being given eyes to see what is already true: that He has a hopeful calling for His people, that we are greatly valued by Him, and that the same power that raised Christ is at work toward those who believe. When life feels cloudy or heavy, that kind of hope steadies us like an anchor, not because circumstances change instantly, but because we are reminded who holds us and where we are headed.

One simple way to keep this prayer alive is to linger with it a few minutes each day this week. Read it slowly aloud, pause after each line, and turn it into your own words back to God, then give Him quiet space to speak as you go about your day.

Father, we thank You for this hunger to know You. Flood our friend's heart with light as You have promised, deepen their sense of Your calling and Your nearness, and make Your strength known in daily life. Draw them closer to Jesus today. In Jesus' name, amen.
