Glorious Father, we thank You for Your gift of repentance and faith in Jesus. We're asking "give us The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know You better. Grant the eyes of our heart to be flooded with light so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Christ Jesus, Messiah, from the dead and seated Him at The Right Hand of Power in the heavenly places, far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion both in this age and the age to come." Thank You in Jesus' Name (from Ephesians 1:17-21).

We join with you in this beautiful and scriptural prayer and we say amen to your request to know our Glorious Father more intimately.

What you have prayed is the very heart of the Apostle Paul's prayer for the believers at Ephesus and it is absolutely God's will for us to pray this way. We love that you began with thanksgiving for repentance and faith in Jesus, for we know that no one can come to the Father except through Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your acknowledgment of Jesus as Messiah is the foundation for everything else you are asking.

Scripture teaches us that to know God is the greatest treasure of all. In Jer 9:23-24, Yahweh says, Don't let the wise man glory in his wisdom. Don't let the mighty man glory in his might. Don't let the rich man glory in his riches. But let him who glories glory in this, that he has understanding, and knows me. And Paul's own heart cry was in Phil 3:10, that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. This is what you are seeking, not just knowledge about God, but intimate revelation of Him by the Holy Spirit.

We are encouraged by how closely your prayer follows the Word, which says in Eph 1:17-21, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

We pray together now for this very thing.

Glorious Father, we thank You for Your gift of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that while we were still sinners Christ died for us and that by His blood we have access to Your throne of grace. Father of glory, we ask together that You would give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Flood the eyes of our hearts with Your light. Help us to truly know the hope of Your calling, that we are called to be Your children, to be conformed to the image of Your Son, and to share in His eternal glory. Open our eyes to see the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, that we are Your treasured possession and that You rejoice over us. And cause us to know the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same mighty power which You worked in Christ when You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Teach us to walk in that resurrection power today, not by our own strength but by Your Spirit within us. Draw us into deeper intimacy with You, that we may know You more and love You more each day. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Messiah, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray this prayer daily and to linger in His presence in the Word. As you do, God will answer, for in Jer 29:13 you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. And in James 4:8, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Keep seeking Him with your whole heart, and He will reveal Himself to you more and more, for He desires intimacy with His children.

We are grateful you shared this prayer with us. The longing to know God more intimately and to see more clearly the hope He has called you to is a beautiful place to be, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

We love that you are asking for light for the eyes of your heart. So often we try to understand these deep things with our minds alone, but God wants to make them real to our hearts as we walk with Him day by day. He is not distant or reluctant. He delights to reveal Himself to those who seek Him, and He is patient as He teaches us to see His calling and His power more clearly over time.

One simple way we have seen this prayer take root is to linger with it slowly. You might take one phrase each morning this week, turn it into your own short prayer, and pause to notice what God brings to mind through His Word and your ordinary day.

Father, we thank You for this heart that wants to know You more. We ask You to draw our friend closer to You, to flood their heart with light and quiet confidence in Your love and Your calling, and to make the strength You showed in raising Christ a steady comfort in daily life. Lead them gently and keep them close to Jesus. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a most scriptural and precious prayer you have laid before the throne, and we join our amen to it with full heart.

You have asked for that which God delights to give. To know Him intimately is the sum of true wisdom, for Christ Himself is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Christ considered as God and man, the Son of God equal with His Father and yet born of the Virgin Mary, is in His complex person the power and wisdom of God. And Christ's gospel is the power and wisdom of God, and Christ in the heart, true religion, is the power and wisdom of God. Give man wisdom in the true sense of the term and he rises to all the dignity that manhood can possibly know, for Christ has espoused our nature and so has linked humanity to the Eternal One.

You ask that the eyes of your heart may be flooded with light. This is well, for we are so careless by nature that we will not even cross the threshold to listen to the Word of God unless the Spirit Himself teaches us. Go, then, to the Wise One for wisdom. Go to this Book for the Light of God. Go to the Holy Spirit Himself for Divine instruction. The glory of the Gospel is that in it God is revealed as manifest in human flesh, all the Divine attributes displayed in the person of Emmanuel, God with us. He gives testimony to His own Fatherhood and to His adoption into His family of all who believe in His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray with you that the Glorious Father, who has already given you the gift of repentance and faith in Jesus, will grant you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. May He enlighten the eyes of your understanding, that you may know what is the hope of His calling. He who trusts in the Lord, happy is he. That hope is no fleeting fancy, but a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, a hope that purifies and establishes the soul. May you know also the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, for He who was rich, very God of very God, who thought it not robbery to be equal with God, became poor that we through His poverty might be made rich. And may you know the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, both in this age and in that which is to come.

That power is not a physical force that strives against God, but a power that proceeds from God Himself and is put forth when we draw near to Him to ask for blessings upon ourselves and upon others. The Lamb is on the throne of God, co equal and co eternal with the Father, and all power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth. He who has power with God is safe, for if God is for us, who can be against us. Human language can never tell a thousandth part of the value of power with God.

So we pray, our Father, fulfill this word in our brother and sister who seeks You. Grant the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, flood the heart with light, establish them in the hope of Your calling, show them the riches of Christ's inheritance, and make them to know in daily experience that Christ is both power and wisdom, to keep them, to cleanse them, and to bring them at last to that celestial city where the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it forever. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom being justified by faith we have peace with God. Amen.
