To be set free from generational curses

That I will not continue to be a single mom like the rest of the women in my family. Will marry this ### and break the curse. Will grow old with my fiance ###. He will make up his mind to marry after being together ### years. Let no one come between us. Block his ears from family and evil ones pushing him away from me. Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry for freedom from the patterns that have marked your family for generations, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God is able to break every chain. The cycle of single motherhood in your family does not have to define your future—Christ came to set the captives free, and His power is greater than any generational curse. "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13 WEB). Through His sacrifice, you are no longer bound to the failures or sins of your ancestors. You are a new creation in Him, and your story can reflect His redemption.

First, we must address the mention of your fiancé and the years you’ve spent together without marriage. If you are living together or engaging in intimacy outside of marriage, this is not God’s design. Scripture is clear: "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Fornication—sex before marriage—grieves the Holy Spirit and opens doors to spiritual attack, division, and confusion in relationships. If this is part of your situation, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. Consider separating physically until marriage to honor God and invite His blessing over your union. True love waits and respects God’s boundaries.

We also notice the absence of Christ’s name in your prayer. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Without Christ, we are powerless against the enemy’s schemes, but in Him, we have authority to break every curse.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who breaks every chain. We thank You for Your power to redeem and restore what the enemy has stolen. We declare over [her name] that she is not bound by the patterns of her family. By the blood of Jesus, every generational curse is broken, and she is set free to walk in the destiny You have for her. Lord, we ask that You would heal her heart from any wounds or lies that have kept her in cycles of brokenness. Fill her with Your truth and Your love.

Father, we lift up her relationship before You. If this man is Your will for her, we ask that You would soften his heart and give him clarity and courage to commit to marriage. Remove every distraction, every voice of doubt, and every influence that seeks to pull them apart. Block the ears of those who would speak against this union, and let Your peace reign in their hearts. If there is any unrepentant sin in their relationship, Lord, bring it to light and grant them the strength to turn from it. Let their love be pure, selfless, and honoring to You.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, indecision, and division in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against this relationship will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, if this man is not the one You have for her, give her the wisdom and grace to walk away, trusting You to bring the right spouse into her life. We pray for a godly husband who will love her as Christ loves the church, who will lead with humility, and who will cherish her as a gift from You.

Father, we ask that You would restore what has been lost and bring beauty from ashes. Let her marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness, a light to her family, and a legacy of Your goodness. May her children and grandchildren rise up and call her blessed, breaking the cycle of brokenness for generations to come. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for moving mightily on her behalf. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand on God’s promises and trust in His timing. Seek Him first above all else, and let His Word be the foundation of your life and your future marriage. "But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33 WEB). Surround yourself with godly counsel, remain in prayer, and walk in obedience to His Word. The enemy may try to discourage you, but remember: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can grow in your faith, receive discipleship, and be surrounded by a community that will support and pray for you. God’s plans for you are good, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you. "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6 WEB). Keep your eyes on Him, and do not lose heart.

We're right there with you, sister, as you desire freedom from the generational patterns that have marked your family. We believe in the power of God to break every chain and redeem us from the curse of the law. You are not defined by your past, but by the new creation you've become in Christ. Let's claim this truth together:

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

Now, let's address your relationship. We understand the years you've spent together, but we want to remind you of God's design for intimacy. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge." (Hebrews 13:4 KJV) If you're living together or engaging in intimacy outside of marriage, it's important to repent and seek God's forgiveness. Consider separating until marriage to honor God and invite His blessing over your union. True love waits and respects God's boundaries.

We also noticed that your prayer didn't mention Jesus' name. It's only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there's no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you haven't surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9 KJV)

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, who broke every chain. We thank You for Your power to redeem and restore. We declare over [her name] that she is not bound by the patterns of her family. By the blood of Jesus, every generational curse is broken, and she is set free to walk in the destiny You have for her. Block the ears of those who would speak against this union, and let Your peace reign in their hearts. If there is any unrepentant sin in their relationship, Lord, bring it to light and grant them the strength to turn from it. Let their love be pure, selfless, and honoring to You.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s desire to lift your request before the Lord, asking Him to break every generational curse over your life and your family line. We have prayed fervently that God would move powerfully in your relationship, softening hearts, removing doubt, and drawing you and your fiancé into the fullness of His will for your future together.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer—if you’ve seen His hand at work in your circumstances—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give thanks together and encourage others with the testimony of God’s faithfulness.

If you’re still waiting and longing for His breakthrough, we want you to know we’re not finished praying. We will continue to stand in agreement with you, asking the Lord to strengthen your faith, protect your relationship, and fulfill every promise He has placed in your heart. You are not alone in this battle, and we believe God is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.

May the Lord bless you with peace as you wait on Him. May He surround you with His presence, confirm His will in your life, and lead you both into the destiny He has prepared. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
