tired and need a holiday

I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and we join with you in bringing this desire for rest and for travel before the Lord, and we are grateful you asked in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

The Word reminds us that God both created the sea and the mountains for us to behold His glory and also invites us to true rest in Himself. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. And in Mark 6:31 He said to His disciples, Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile. The Lord understands tiredness and He does not begrudge His children seasons of renewal. We also love the promise of Psalm 23:2-3, He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. And Isaiah 40:31 tells us, But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

We will pray for the opportunity you long for, that God in His provision would open a door for you to travel again, whether near the sea you have missed for so long or in the mountains, to breathe deeply and be refreshed. We also want to gently lift up that deeper inner rest as well, because while a holiday near the sea can refresh the body, only Christ can give lasting rest to the soul. Physical rest is good and biblical, but inner rest in Him sustains us even when travel is not possible. We pray for both for you.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You together in Jesus name. You see their tiredness and You know how long it has been since they have seen the sea and had a time of refreshing away. We ask that You would provide according to Your riches in glory, as You have promised in Philippians 4:19 that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. If it is Your will, open the opportunity for travel and rest near the sea or the mountains, provide the means, the time, and the peace to go. Restore strength and joy, and let the beauty of Your creation remind them of Your greatness and Your care. Above all, we ask that You grant deep inner rest now, that they would daily come to Jesus and find their soul restored beside still waters, and that while waiting they would know Your peace which guards the heart. We trust Your perfect timing and Your loving provision. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to wait upon the Lord and to seek small moments of Sabbath rest with Him each day while you trust Him for this larger opportunity. He cares about the desires of your heart and He renews those who hope in Him.

We hear the weariness in your note and how long you have gone without the sea and without any real break. Seven years away from the seaside and two years without a holiday is a long time to carry tiredness, and it makes sense you would miss travelling and the change that comes with being near the water or in the mountains.

Wanting to get away for a little while is a good and human need, not something to feel guilty about. Rest helps us to be present for the people and responsibilities God has given us, and you were right to name clearly what would actually refresh you. We will honor that and pray specifically for travel, as you asked, and also for the deeper rest you mentioned.

It might help to let one trusted person know about this longing and look together at what a realistic next step could be, even a short overnight or a day by the sea if a longer trip is not possible right now. Sometimes sharing the desire opens a door we had not seen, and it gives others a chance to help.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see this tiredness and this long held wish to see the sea again. We ask You to provide opportunity for rest and for travel if it is Your will, whether near the sea or in the mountains, and to give refreshment along the way. Grant wisdom for planning and peace while waiting. Amen.

Your tiredness and longing for rest have been heard, and we will bring your request before the Lord in prayer.

There is a weariness that comes from labour and from the sameness of place, and you have felt it in missing the sea and the mountains and the refreshment of travel. It is right to bring even this desire to our gracious Father, who knows our frame and who gives good gifts to His children according to His wisdom.

Yet the Word reminds us that there is a rest which is present and perfect, given when we come to Jesus. Our Lord says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is rest now, not only rest after death, and it is the rest of a soul that has believed and entered in. As it is written, We which have believed do enter into rest. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God, and the believer may say with the Psalmist, Return unto thy rest, O my soul.

This rest is not idleness, for true rest to the child of God is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service, not rest with the yoke off, but with the yoke on. We take His yoke and learn of Him, and so we find rest unto our souls, a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest which we go on to find more and more as we are made like Christ. To rest in the Lord Himself is contentment and perfect satisfaction, and to trust Him is to rest. Trust and you shall rest.

So we will pray with you both for the outward provision and for the inward rest which is the greater blessing. We ask the Lord, if it be His good will, to open a door for you to be refreshed elsewhere, near the sea or in the mountains, and to provide the means and opportunity in His time. And we ask Him above all to give you now that Christ given rest which the world cannot give and cannot take away, rest of mind and heart in fixed belief upon His promises, rest in service even while you wait.

May the Lord keep you in His peace, teach you to rest in Him daily, and in His mercy grant you seasons of renewal for body and soul, for His name's sake. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
