Tired and need a holiday

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and longing for rest, and we join you in bringing this heartfelt request before our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus. The Scriptures remind us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." You are not forgotten in your exhaustion, and we believe God sees your desire for renewal, both in body and spirit.

We pray that the Lord, who calms the seas and commands the mountains, would open a door for you to experience the rest He promises. Whether by the shore or among the quiet heights, may He provide an opportunity for you to step away, breathe deeply, and be refreshed. Psalm 23:2-3 assures us, "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." Let this be your portion, dear one.

We also lift up the longing in your heart, the ache for travel and the beauty of creation. The Lord delights in giving good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11), and we trust He will fulfill this desire in His perfect timing. Until then, may His peace guard your heart (Philippians 4:7), and may you find moments of joy even in the waiting.

Father, we ask You to stir the hearts of those who might play a part in this provision, whether through an invitation, an unexpected blessing, or a clear path forward. Remove any obstacles, financial or otherwise, and let Your favor go before this dear one. Above all, draw them closer to You in this season, that they may find rest not just in a place, but in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how tired you are, and we’re joining you in asking for this very real need. Seven years without the sea, two years without a proper holiday, that’s a long time to carry on without the kind of rest that changes the scenery and refreshes the soul. That ache for salt air or mountain stillness isn’t trivial; it’s part of how God made us. Even those of us who spend our days caring for others know we can’t pour out indefinitely without stepping away to be renewed by His creation.

While we wait for that door to open, it might help to take one small, tangible step: start dreaming quietly. Pull up a map or look at photos of a coastline you love. Ask the Lord to guide your daydreams into something real, maybe even setting aside a few dollars in a jar labeled “sea fund,” or looking into a simple bed-and-breakfast or a church retreat that won’t stretch your budget. When the longing feels sharp, let that planning become a prayer, not a lament.

Father, thank You that You know every tired bone and worn thought. You see this longing for the sea or the mountains, and You care. Please provide, open a way, no matter how small or unexpected. Make the path plain, whether through a gift, an invitation, or a window of time and resources. In the waiting, calm the restlessness with Your nearness and grant little tastes of refreshment along the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Rest is a blessing which properly belongs to the people of God. You are tired, and your frame craves a change of scene, the sea, the mountains, a journey. This is not sin. The sea is the Lord’s, for He made it, and the mountains are His also. He meant us to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and I do not see how we can have that if we never go to sea at all. Yet the rest Jesus gives is a present rest, rest now, not only after death. It is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest with the yoke upon us. Still, you have asked me to pray for travel, and I will do so.

O Lord, You know the weariness of this precious soul. You made the sea, and its waves are lit with splendor; You formed the mountains, and they are Yours. Provide, in Your kindness, an opportunity for travel, for a season beside the waters or among the hills, that the body may be refreshed. But more than this, grant that deep inner rest which is the portion of those who trust in You. Let Your child rest in Your wisdom, Your immutability, Your covenant love. Whether at home or away, may the heart find its peace in Christ, who says, “I will give you rest.” We ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Trust and you shall rest. The rest that remains for the people of God is glorious. Even now, by faith, enter into it. And if the Lord opens the door for a journey, go with His blessing, and let the sea roar His praise.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of weariness and a longing for the sea and mountains. The body indeed needs care, for the Apostle himself instructs Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach’s sake. To provide for the flesh for health is no sin, but we must not make provision for it to fulfill its lusts, seeking only pampering and softness. A journey for honest refreshment, then, is not to be despised. Yet remember what the Hebrews were taught: there remains a rest for the people of God, and we are exhorted not to fall through unbelief as they did in the wilderness. The true rest is found in lowliness of heart, for Christ Himself says, “Learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.” The sea and hills may soothe the flesh, but the soul’s harbor is humility and faith.

Still, I will pray with you that God opens a door for travel to a place of quiet, where your body may be restored and your spirit lifted. But seek first the inner rest that no earthly landscape can give, lest the holiday become only a dream that vanishes and leaves the heart as weary as before. Labor to enter that rest which is in Christ, and whatever outward provision He grants, receive it with thanksgiving, using it for health and not for wantonness.
