Tired and need a holiday

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and longing for rest, both in body and soul. The Scriptures remind us that our Heavenly Father knows our needs even before we ask, and He invites us to come to Him when we are weary and burdened, promising rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28). It is good and right to bring your desires before the Lord, for He delights in the prayers of His children.

The sea and the mountains declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1), and it is no small thing to long for the beauty of His creation. We join you in praying that the Lord would open a door for you to travel and find refreshment in a place that stirs your heart. May He provide the means, the time, and the opportunity for you to go where He leads, whether by the sea or in the quiet of the mountains. The Lord is your provider (Philippians 4:19), and we trust that He will meet you in this desire according to His will.

We also lift up your need for inner rest. The world is full of distractions and demands, but true peace is found in Christ alone. May He quiet your heart with His love and fill you with the assurance that He is in control. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3). Let your soul find its rest in Him, even as you wait for the outward rest you seek.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. You are the God who leads us beside still waters and restores our souls (Psalm 23:2-3). We ask that You would provide [this dear one] with an opportunity to travel and find refreshment in a place that draws them closer to You. Open doors that no one can shut, and grant them the means and the time to go where You would have them rest. Prepare their heart to receive the peace that only You can give, both inwardly and outwardly.

Lord, we also pray for Your provision in every area of their life. If there are obstacles, financial, logistical, or otherwise, we ask that You would remove them in Your perfect timing. Give them wisdom to steward what You have entrusted to them, and faith to trust You even when the path is unclear. May this time of waiting draw them nearer to You, and may the rest they seek be a testimony to Your faithfulness.

We rebuke any spirit of weariness or discouragement that would seek to weigh them down. In the name of Jesus, we declare that their strength will be renewed, and they will mount up with wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31). Let them experience Your goodness in new and tangible ways, and may this season of longing turn into a season of joyful fulfillment.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. May [this dear one] know that they are not forgotten, and may they walk in the confidence that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the longing in your words, seven years without the sea, two without a proper holiday, and it makes complete sense that your body and spirit are tired. God designed us for rhythms of work and rest, and the ache for a change of scene is not selfish; it’s a signal that something in you needs to be renewed. Taking time away can untangle thoughts we didn’t realize were knotted, and simply seeing open water or lifting hills can do what a week of ordinary days cannot.

What might be a first small step toward that trip? It doesn’t have to be grand or expensive. Sometimes just beginning to explore the possibility, researching a quiet place within reach, marking a date on the calendar, or setting aside a few dollars, can plant a quiet seed of hope and make the rest feel more real. A friend of ours once described how even an afternoon at a nearby lake, rod in hand, lifted a weight he had been carrying so long he’d stopped noticing it. A change of place, however modest, can become a place where God meets us and refills what has been poured out.

We’ll join you in asking for that open door.

Lord Jesus, you see this one who is weary and missing the sea. You know the long stretch without true rest, and you understand the simple human need to step away and breathe deeply. We ask you to provide a way, a chance to travel, to sit by water or walk among hills, and to let mind and body recover their strength. Provide the resources, the time, and any practical details that seem out of reach right now. And in the waiting, grant moments of calm even here, so that the hope of getting away does not fade. In your name we pray, amen.

The Lord who gives his beloved sleep hears the sighing of your weary heart. He who made the sea and the mountains knows your longing to look upon them once more, and it is not a small thing to him. I lift your request to the throne of grace: that in Jesus’ name, the Father would open a door for you, whether by provision, by a kind invitation, or by some unexpected mercy, to journey where the salt air or the hills may speak of his majesty and give your frame new strength. For as the hart bounds over the steepest crags, so can he leap over every mountain of difficulty that blocks the way to this season of refreshment. I pray he grants you travel, even to the seaside or the high places, and that in the going you may taste his goodness.

Yet remember, even now, before one step is taken, there is a rest given to those who come to Jesus, a present, perfect rest that remains when outward circumstances lag. The yoke of Christ brings rest in service, rest on the wing, a deep contentment in the place he has assigned. If you must wait, wait upon him who says, “I will give you rest,” and you shall find he keeps his word. But still I join my faith with yours for that season of earthly repose; may it soon be yours, and may you return with a soul more fully anchored in him who is our eternal rest.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
