Tired and need a holiday

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness and longing for rest, and we join you in bringing this heartfelt request before our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." You are not forgotten in your exhaustion, and we believe God sees your desire for renewal, both in spirit and in the refreshment of His creation.

First, we rebuke the spirit of weariness and stagnation that has kept you from the rest and beauty God intends for you. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you might have life abundantly. We declare that this season of waiting is coming to an end, and God will open doors for you to experience His provision and peace in a new way.

We pray that the Lord would make a way for you to travel, to the seaside or the mountains, wherever He leads, so that your soul may be restored. Psalm 23:2-3 says, "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." Father, we ask You to provide the opportunity, the resources, and the time for this much-needed rest. Whether through an unexpected blessing, a kind invitation, or a divine appointment, let Your hand move on behalf of ###.

We also pray for inner rest, for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Even as you wait, may you find moments of stillness in His presence, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we thank You for ###'s faith in bringing this request to You. We believe that You delight in giving good gifts to Your children (Matthew 7:11), and we trust that You will answer this prayer according to Your perfect will. Strengthen ### in this season, and let Your joy be their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the weariness in that, seven years without the sea, and two without any real break. That’s a long time to carry the same routines without stepping away, and we don’t take your request lightly. You’ve asked us plainly to pray for travel, and we will.

While we wait for God’s provision, you might let yourself begin to hope out loud, in small practical ways: glance at a map, look up the cost of a modest seaside or mountain cabin, or set aside even a few dollars a week. That kind of planning isn’t pretend; it’s a quiet act of faith, a way to tell your tired mind that you genuinely believe rest can come. It also helps you notice when an unexpected door, a guesthouse discount, a friend’s invitation, actually opens.

We’re also praying for the kind of refreshment that can start now, before a suitcase is packed. But we hear you: the salt air, the horizon, the change of scenery, those things matter, and we’re asking the Lord to make a way.

Father, you see this person’s exhaustion and their simple, good longing to rest near the sea or in the mountains. In Jesus’ name we ask you to open a door. Provide the time, the resources, and the right opportunity for a genuine holiday that restores body and soul. Until then, keep hope alive and steady their heart. Thank you that you care about the details of our lives. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your request has been laid before the throne of grace, and we will earnestly plead for the Lord to open a door for you to travel, to behold once more the sea or the hills, and to find refreshment of body and spirit. To miss the surge of the waves and the grandeur of the mountains after so many years is a wearying thing, and our Lord, who watched the fishermen upon Galilee and climbed the slopes to pray, knows the needs of these earthly frames. We ask in Jesus’ name that He would provide the season and the means, for it is no sin to desire a change of scene and a rest from daily labour.

Yet even as we pray for this outward journey, let us not forget that the deepest rest is not bound to a place. The rest that Jesus gives is a present rest, a rest given when we come to Him, and it is a rest we find even while the yoke is upon us. It is rest on the wing, rest in service, not the idle cessation of all toil. You long for the sea and the mountains, and He who made them can bring their vastness into your soul even before you pack a bag. The mountains that divide you from comfort may seem impassable, but He can leap over them like a young hart; He can come to you where you are, bringing cool breezes and the sound of still waters for your inward man.

Return unto your rest, O soul, even now. Trust in Him, and you shall rest. Contentment with our earthly lot is a secret whisper of that Sabbath rest, and yet we do not deny your natural longing. We join you in asking that the Lord would abundantly bless your provision and make a way where no way appears. May He grant you a season of repose by the sea, or among the peaks, that you may see His wonders in the deep and His glory in the heights, and return with a refreshed heart. Rest in His promise, for His rest shall be glorious, and His love shall not fail.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of missing the sea and longing for a journey. The sea, with its ceaseless waves, mirrors the restlessness of the human heart until it finds its mooring in God. There are greener pastures and stiller waters than any this earth can offer: the soul’s true rest is in the Shepherd who leads us there, not in a change of scenery. I will certainly pray that God, in His kindness, grants you bodily refreshment if it be according to His will. But be careful not to fix your hope on escape to a mountain or a shore. Many have fled to caves and solitary places, yet carried within them the sharp darts of discontent. What profit is a view of the sea if the heart is stormy? The luxurious, traveling the broad way, are more wretched than the prisoner who has learned contentment in Christ.

Labor then to enter that rest which remains for the people of God, where sorrow and sighing flee away. Your weariness is a summons to press toward that heavenly harbor, not merely a change of air. I do not disdain your request; our Lord Himself knew the need to withdraw and rest. I pray He provide you, in His time, with the respite you desire, whether by the sea or among the hills, as a small foretaste of the true Sabbath. Only seek first the inner stillness that no earthly journey can give, a soul at peace through charity and trust. The virtuous heart, though hemmed in by daily toil, is already walking the narrow road that leads to unending rest.

You are weary and long for the sound of the sea or the quiet of the mountains. Seven years without the shore and two years without a real break is a long time. God knows our frame; He commanded a day of rest each week because our bodies and minds need refreshment. So I will certainly pray with you that He opens a door for travel and provides the means for a holiday by the water or in the hills.

But while we ask for that, I also want to pray that you find the deeper rest that only Jesus gives. The Scripture speaks of a rest that remains for the people of God, a rest we enter by faith. It is not dependent on a place or a season, but on ceasing from our own efforts and trusting in Christ’s finished work. As long as we try to carry everything ourselves, we will be exhausted. Only when we come to the end of our own resources and lean fully on Him do we discover real rest for our souls. He is our true Sabbath.

So yes, let’s ask for a holiday. But let’s also ask that in the waiting, you taste that inner rest, the kind that stays with you even when life feels like a wilderness. God often uses these dry stretches to teach us to rest on Him alone. May He give you both: the refreshment of a journey to the sea or mountains, and the unshakable peace of abiding in Christ.

Father, you see this one who is worn out. You know the longing for sea breezes and open skies. Please make a way, whether through provision, timing, or a generous opportunity, for a season of physical rest and travel. But even now, draw this child into the rest that Jesus purchased, a rest that quiets the heart in any circumstance. Teach us to cease from our own strivings and to trust you completely. In Jesus’ name, amen.
