Tired and need a holiday

Beloved of All
I haven't been to the seaside for seven years, nor have I had a holiday for two years. I miss the sea and travelling a little. Please pray in Jesus name that God provides me with an opportunity to rest somewhere else (near the sea or in the mountains). You can also pray for inner rest if you wish, but if you really want to pray with me, then pray for travel.Thank you!

We hear your weariness, dear one, and we lift it before the Lord with hearts full of compassion. The longing for rest and the beauty of creation is a gift from God, who Himself rested on the seventh day and invites us to find renewal in Him. You are not forgotten in your fatigue, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that the God who calms the seas and stills the storms can also calm the restlessness in your soul and open doors for the refreshment you seek.

The Scriptures remind us, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29 WEB). Rest is not merely a physical escape but a spiritual reality found in Christ. Yet we also know that God delights in giving good gifts to His children, and a time of refreshment in His creation is a blessing He may very well provide. The psalmist declares, "He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul" (Psalm 23:2-3 WEB). We pray that the Lord would lead you to such a place of restoration.

We also lift up the practical need for travel and opportunity. The Lord is our Provider, and we trust Him to make a way where there seems to be no way. "The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing" (Psalm 34:10 WEB). We ask that He would open doors for you to step away, even if just for a short time, to breathe in the fresh air of the sea or the quiet majesty of the mountains. Whether through unexpected provision, a kind invitation, or a creative solution, we believe God can bring about the opportunity you need.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary and in need of rest. Lord, You know the depths of their longing, the years without a holiday, the absence of the sea’s embrace, the weight of daily burdens. We ask that You would meet them in their weariness and grant them the refreshment their soul craves. Father, we trust You to provide an opportunity for travel, whether near the sea or in the mountains, where they can draw near to You in the beauty of Your creation. Open doors that no one can shut, and make a way where there seems to be no way.

Lord, we also pray for inner rest. Let them find peace in Your presence, knowing that You are their Shepherd and Provider. Renew their strength as they wait on You, and fill them with hope as they trust in Your timing. Guard their heart from discouragement, and remind them that You are working all things together for their good.

We rebuke any spirit of lack or despair that would tell them this rest is impossible. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust You to meet this need according to Your riches in glory. May this time of refreshment be a testimony to Your faithfulness and love.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to hope, dear one. The God who parted the Red Sea and walked on water is the same God who cares for you. Keep your heart open to His leading, and be attentive to the ways He may provide, whether through an unexpected invitation, a financial blessing, or a creative solution you haven’t yet considered. Rest is not just a luxury; it is a necessity for your soul, and we believe God desires to give it to you. Continue to seek Him, and trust that He will guide your steps to the place of renewal you need.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear how tired you are, and how much you miss the sea and simple travel. That longing isn't trivial, it's your whole being asking for a break, and it's okay to bring that to God honestly. He knows our frame and remembers we are dust, and he delights to give good gifts to his children, rest included.

Sometimes the biggest barrier to a holiday is our own hesitation to plan something small and actually let ourselves rest. Perhaps this week, take one concrete step: block out a weekend on the calendar, even if you don't yet know the destination. Start looking at affordable places near water or hills, or ask a friend if they'd join you for a day trip. Often the act of planning, opening that browser tab, making one inquiry, can rekindle hope and help you feel less stuck. If a longer trip isn't possible right now, a mini-retreat, even just 24 hours away from routine, can do wonders.

We also want you to know that your desire for travel isn't selfish; it's a way of letting your soul breathe. God created a world full of beauty, vast oceans, quiet mountains, and he made us to enjoy and be restored by it. So we'll gladly pray with you for that specific opportunity, just as you asked.

Jesus, you see this weariness and this deep hunger for the sea. You know how long it's been. Would you open a door for a genuine time away, near the coast, in the hills, wherever you know they'll find real refreshment. Provide the means, the time, and the right companion if that's best. In the waiting, guard them from resentment or despair. Let your peace wash over them like gentle waves, and give them a foretaste of rest even now. We trust you to care for them fully. Amen.

Seven years have passed since you heard the waves break upon the shore, and two since you had respite from your round of labor. You miss the sea and the open road, and your whole nature cries out for a change of scene. This is not sinful restlessness, it is the weariness of a vessel that has long sailed without dropping anchor. I shall pray with you, in Jesus’ name, that God in His fatherly kindness provides you the means to travel, to stand where the waters breathe deep or where the hills lift your eyes heavenward. Our Lord Himself withdrew to solitary places, and He knows the frame of His children, that we need seasons of bodily refreshment.

But in praying for that journey, I dare not leave you without reminding you of a sweeter rest, one not bound to any map or season. The Master says, “I will give you rest.” Not after death alone, but now; not in idleness, but rest on the wing, rest in service, rest with the yoke still upon your shoulders. You may have this rest and yet know the weariness of a pilgrim, for the Christian’s rest is perfectly consistent with holy labor. “We which have believed do enter into rest,” even while our feet tread the dusty road. The sea itself is a parable: in constant motion, yet ever at peace in its depths. So your soul may be calm in Christ while your body craves a cottage by the shore.

I do pray earnestly that you are sent away to the seaside or the mountains, that the salt wind kisses your cheek and the tides wash away your fatigue. It is a lawful desire, and our God gives richly all things to enjoy. Yet if the provision tarries, “return unto thy rest, O my soul”, for the deepest rest is not a place, but a Person. Travel to Him by faith, and you have already arrived. Trust, and you shall rest; and when the holiday comes, it will be doubly sweet because you carry that unbroken rest within you. May the Lord Jesus, who is our eternal rest, grant you both outward provision and the inward repose that glorifies Him. Amen.

The ache for the sea is a real weariness, and I do not dismiss it. The body longs for a change of air, the eyes for a broad horizon. That longing, though, is often the soul's language, speaking of a deeper thirst. The sea you remember is vast and restless, yet a different sea exists, one of calm and depth, the heart of the Apostle Paul, upon which souls sail not from city to city, but from earth to heaven. On that sea there are no waves, no sudden rocks, only the Spirit's gentle breath. When you feel the world's narrow dust, you are really aching for that true immensity.

So, then, I will pray for you to travel, and I do so gladly. But I would offer a poor kindness if I did not also plead that in your journeying, whether to shore or mountain, you do not miss the rest that remains for the people of God. A holiday may ease the limbs, yet the inner restlessness, the bitter darts that spring up even from mirth, will follow you unless the heart finds its haven. Do not require a miracle explained; the Spirit's work is enough.

Let us, therefore, lift up this request together to the Lord, who made the sea and the mountains, and who Himself is our true refreshment.

O Lord Jesus Christ, look upon this tired soul who has not seen the sea or had a season of release for many years. In Your kindness, open a door for travel, for cool breezes on the face, for the sound of waves or the silence of the hills. Provide the means and the time, and keep all danger far away. Yet more than this, grant the inner rest that the world cannot give and cannot take. Let this time of refreshment be a small taste of the greater rest You have prepared for those who love You, that returning, this one may walk with lighter step and larger heart, sharing gladly the common gifts of sun and air, not holding them tightly, but finding them more truly their own by Your grace. Amen.
