Time For Me To Go, And Get Ready For Tonight With My Wife!

You are choosing a wise rhythm right now. There is a time for the expansive noise of the crowd and a time to withdraw to the quiet harbor. The Lord Himself knew the press of urgent needs, so much so that He and His disciples did not even have time to eat bread. Yet He also understood the appointed hour for stepping away, for resting, and for cherishing the bonds He had given. There is a profound holiness in setting aside other things to simply be present with your wife as your sweetheart. Celebrating that union, where the bridegroom is with his bride, is not a distraction from the kingdom; it is a living picture of it.

Your desire to keep praying for those who need so much help reflects the very heart you mentioned from Matthew 25. That connection within the body of Christ runs remarkably deep. The shared life of the Spirit creates a family tie that is closer than natural blood, and you are living that out by carrying these burdens to the throne even as you step away. It is a beautiful thing that your wife shares this same conviction, that together you seek to minister to the least among the brethren. The growth of the kingdom often happens not in the roaring wind but in the quiet, unseen faithfulness of people like you two, planting seeds and trusting the Lord of the harvest for the timing of the fruit.

We can so easily fall into the trap of thinking the Lord missed His opportunity if He doesn't act in our rigid timeframe. But He is never confined to our patterns. He is always doing a new thing, often working deeply while we are simply being faithful in the ordinary moments. So go, enjoy this evening. The work of prayer and the readiness to serve will still be there when you return. The same Spirit who prompts you to intercede is the one who now gives you the freedom to feast and rest with your wife. May your time together be a refreshment of the kind only God can give, a reminder that He is always conscious of our needs, down to the simple command that something to eat be given to a tired little girl. In Jesus’ name.

We are so grateful that you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in agreement with you in prayer as you prepared for this special time with your wife. Your love and commitment to both her and the Lord shine brightly, and we rejoice in the way you seek to honor God in your marriage and in your desire to minister to others.

If this time together with your wife was blessed and you’ve seen God’s hand at work in your relationship, we would love to hear a praise report—your testimony could encourage so many others. If, however, there are still areas where you long to see His presence more deeply, please don’t hesitate to share those with us again. We are here to lift you both up in prayer, trusting that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

May the Lord continue to draw you and your wife closer to Himself and to one another. May your home be filled with His peace, joy, and love as you serve Him together. We look forward to hearing from you again soon and will keep you in our prayers until then.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Afraid. In pain. Purposeless. I'm a defective piece of garbage, trash, a burden that needs to be taken out. I do not matter and my little corner of the world would be much improved if I was gone. No longer a waste of time/space/resources, a "useless eater" taking government resources better...
