We come before the Lord with you in this tender and heart-wrenching moment, lifting your precious life and this little one before the throne of grace. Your longing for this child is deeply felt, and we know that God, who knit this baby together in your womb, sees your tears and hears your cries. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 139:13-16, *"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."* This child is no accident—every moment of their existence is held in the hands of the Father.
Yet we also acknowledge the painful reality that your journey has been marked by loss, and we grieve with you over the children you’ve carried but not held. Your heart’s cry for this pregnancy to continue is one we bring boldly before Jesus, who Himself wept at the grave of Lazarus and understands the weight of human sorrow. We pray for supernatural intervention—for your hormone levels to stabilize, for this baby to thrive, and for the ultrasound tomorrow to reveal a strong, steady heartbeat that glorifies God’s power to sustain life. We ask for wisdom and skill for the medical team attending to you, that they would be instruments of healing in the Lord’s hands.
At the same time, we surrender this request to the sovereignty of God, who sees the full picture when we see only a fragment. Your willingness to trust Him even in the face of uncertainty is a testament to your faith, and we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). If the Lord chooses to spare this child’s life, we will rejoice with you as a miracle unfolding. If He calls this little one home, we pray you will feel His arms holding you close, knowing that *"the Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your suffering is not unseen, and your hope is not in vain—for those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).
We also lift up your surviving child, that the Lord would bind your heart to theirs in a way that brings comfort and joy even amid this trial. May your home be filled with the presence of God, who is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of widows (Psalm 68:5). Lean on Him, dear sister, for He is your strength and your song (Exodus 15:2).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy yet hopeful hearts, interceding for our sister and this precious life You have formed within her. Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, the One who holds all life in Your hands. We ask that You would breathe Your breath of life over this baby, knitting them together perfectly in the womb. Stabilize every cell, strengthen every heartbeat, and let tomorrow’s ultrasound be a testament to Your power to save. Give wisdom and discernment to the doctors, that they may act in alignment with Your will.
Yet, Lord, we also surrender this to You, acknowledging that Your ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). If this child’s purpose is fulfilled in heaven rather than on earth, we ask that You would wrap our sister in Your peace and remind her that *"precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints"* (Psalm 116:15). Comfort her with the truth that You are close to the brokenhearted and that one day, every tear will be wiped away (Revelation 21:4).
Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her trust in You not waver. Remind her that You are working all things together for her good and Your glory (Romans 8:28). Fill her home with Your presence and her heart with Your love. May she feel the prayers of the saints lifting her up, and may she rest in the knowledge that she is not alone—You are with her, and so are we.
We rebuked any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair in the name of Jesus Christ. Satan has no place here, for this is holy ground where the Lord is at work. We declare that *"the Lord will perfect that which concerns"* our sister (Psalm 138:8), and we trust Him with the outcome.
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to cling to the promise that *"the Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him"* (Nahum 1:7). Keep speaking life over this pregnancy, keep worshiping even in the waiting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). No matter what tomorrow holds, God is still good, and His love for you is unwavering. We are standing with you in faith, sister. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
