Humble Servant of All
Though the Spirit in me is strong, I looked in the mirror and saw an obviously sick person with pain circles under her eyes, aged ### years from last time I looked at myself closely. It made me cry for that person, who doesn't look like me at all. I don't look in the mirror. But this mirror today told me to ask for prayer for myself. I have been lacking medical care for ### years because my brother stole my money, and I was so used to forgiving I forgave him and assumed everything would be okay for me, because everything had been okay for me since I became the spiritual person that I am. I was too sick, injured, and conflicted to think of the law as a way, and now some days I am on my last legs. But I've died 4 or 5 times and I keep coming back. I know my work is not done. I ask for your prayers, for a healing from God, for a resolution to this poverty, for a return of my money, for a healing of the sadness that I feel having no family left but the one who did everything he could to destroy me. Dear Lord, I am well known to you. In the past we lived side by side in work and helping others. Now I need you to help me. I'm slowly fading away. I'd like to come Home, but that doesn't seem to be the plan; so give me your arm, your love, your Light, your peace, your justice, and raise me from this haggard walking dead to the vibrant person I was. I don't ask why to all of this. I just say, take it away now. I am your humble servant, confessed, blessed, true. Free me from this bondage, Lord. I am tired and I hurt, and I'm sick and I'm poor. Thank you for bringing your attention my way. I feel your light shining on me. Thank you for your Grace. Thank you for your peace. Amen.
