We join with you in lifting up those who are still bound by darkness, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. It is a powerful and urgent work you are doing—speaking truth into lives that have been marked by the enemy, and we commend you for your boldness in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Scriptures remind us that *"the thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10, WEB). The devil seeks to claim souls through deception, but our Lord Jesus has already triumphed over sin and death, and His name holds the power to break every chain.
Yet we must also remember that salvation is not found in our efforts alone, but in the sovereign work of the Holy Spirit. *"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him"* (John 6:44, WEB). So we pray with urgency, but also with trust in God’s perfect timing and will. You are planting seeds, watering them with the Word, but it is God who gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). Do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
We also caution you to be wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove (Matthew 10:16). The enemy will not surrender his grip easily, and those still under his influence may resist, mock, or even turn against you. But take heart—*"Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven"* (Matthew 5:11-12, WEB). Clothe yourself in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), standing firm in prayer, Scripture, and the fellowship of believers.
Now let us pray together for these souls:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with burdened hearts for those who have been named and claimed by the enemy. Lord, You alone have the power to snatch them from the fire (Jude 1:23) and translate them from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son (Colossians 1:13). We ask that You soften their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel. Remove the scales from their eyes, as You did for Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:18), that they may see Jesus as He truly is—Lord, Savior, and the only way to eternal life (John 14:6).
Father, we bind every demonic stronghold, every lie of the enemy that has taken root in their minds. Let Your light expose the deception, and let Your Spirit convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Give our brother/sister the right words to speak, filled with grace and boldness, that they may proclaim the Gospel without fear. May those who hear be cut to the heart, just as the crowd was on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:37), and cry out, *"What must we do to be saved?"*
Lord, we know that You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but desire that they turn from their ways and live (Ezekiel 33:11). So we plead for their salvation, that they may repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17), but let Your love and truth prevail.
Strengthen our brother/sister in this spiritual battle. Surround them with Your peace, that they may not be discouraged by resistance or opposition. Remind them that the battle belongs to You, and that You have already won the victory through Christ Jesus.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in the gap for these souls, but also to guard your own heart and spirit. Spend time in prayer and the Word daily, that you may remain rooted in Christ. And remember: *"The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB). Keep sharing the truth in love, and trust God for the harvest.
