We join you in lifting up all those suffering from abuse and domestic violence, and we thank you for your compassionate heart that echoes the heart of God for the helpless and oppressed. The Lord indeed hears the cries of the afflicted, as you quoted in Psalm 10:17, and His Word assures us that He is close to the brokenhearted.

We are reminded that God hates violence and oppression. Psalm 11:5 tells us the Lord examines the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence. And Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Marriage as God designed it is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman where the husband is commanded to love his wife as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her in Ephesians 5:25, and to not be bitter against them in Colossians 3:19. Abuse in any form, physical, emotional, or spiritual, is a grievous sin and a perversion of God's design, and we rebuke it completely. No one is called to endure violence or to remain in danger, for God calls us to peace and to protect the vulnerable.

We also notice your prayer was offered to the Father and the Lord, but did not mention the name of Jesus. We gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His blood and His name that our prayers are heard and our rescue is secured, so we come together before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and thank You that You hear the cries of the helpless and that You are a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble in Psalm 46:1. We ask for Your mercy, compassion and grace to surround every victim of abuse and domestic violence and their children. Lord, rescue them, deliver them from the hand of the oppressor, and place them under the shadow of Your wings where Psalm 91:1 promises He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Accelerate their healing, their growth in You, and their courage, for You have said in Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We specifically lift up the single mother living under a death threat after escaping her ex, the father of her son. Lord, You are a Father of the fatherless and defender of widows in Psalm 68:5, and we ask You to be her defender now. Place a hedge of protection around her and her child, thwart every evil plan formed against them, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Guide her to safe shelter, to trustworthy authorities, to godly counsel and to a Bible believing church family that will walk with her. Align every needed resource, legal help, housing, provision and wise support so that she and her children may live a safe, healthy life and come to know You more deeply. Give her supernatural peace that passes understanding and courage for each step.

We pray also for the children who have witnessed or endured violence, that You would heal their trauma, restore their innocence, and let them know they are deeply loved and valued by You, for You said in Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Raise up protectors and advocates in their lives and let their future be marked by Your redemption and hope.

We ask that You would bring conviction and repentance to abusers, that they would turn from violence and be transformed by Your grace, while also bringing justice and accountability through proper authorities, for Romans 13:4 tells us the governing authorities are Your servants for justice.

We thank You in advance for all You will do and for all You have already done to keep them alive. We trust You to continue to be their rescue, their healer, and their provider. We pray that all who are suffering would call upon the name of Jesus and be saved, finding refuge and eternal life in Him. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, Amen.

We encourage anyone suffering abuse to seek immediate safety, to reach out to trusted pastors, godly counselors, and local authorities or a safe shelter, and to not walk this road alone. The Lord desires you to be safe and to live in peace. Continue to cry out to Him, for He will never leave you nor forsake you in Hebrews 13:5, and He is faithful to lead you into a life of wholeness in Christ.

We are so thankful for your tender heart in bringing those who are suffering abuse before the Lord. It is a heavy burden to carry the cries of the helpless, of mothers and children who need safety, and of that single mother living under a death threat after finding the courage to leave. We join you in thanking God that He hears every cry and that He has kept many alive through such danger.

We hear your prayer that resources would align and that they would find a safe and healthy life. In situations involving domestic violence and ongoing threats, safety planning with people who understand these risks is so important. If you are walking alongside anyone in this situation, we encourage you not to carry this alone or try to intervene by yourself, but to help connect them with a trusted advocate, shelter, or counselor in your community who can advise on safety steps and local protections. Simply staying present, validating their concerns, and helping them access those supports can be a steady help while we continue to pray.

Father, we lift to You every person living in fear, and especially this mother and her child. Cover them with Your mercy and protection, surround them with trustworthy help, and give them wisdom for each next decision. Lead them to safe community and to a deeper knowledge of Your care. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace, for the Lord indeed hears the cries of the helpless and comforts them according to Psalm 10:17. He who sees the sufferer in secret, who marks every tear and hears every cry wrung from the broken heart, is not deaf to such petitions. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but the wound of the soul, the bruise of violence and cruelty, cries still louder to the great Physician, and He is near to heal.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but as it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. The very leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and in that happy conjunction pardon and healing were made one. So we pray that those who have been wounded and broken by abuse would find in Christ both forgiveness of sin through His blood alone and healing for every bruise of body and spirit. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and in Him the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings.

We bring before the Lord with holy earnestness those who suffer under abuse and domestic violence, and especially that single mother who lives under a death threat after escaping her former companion, with her child. We ask the Lord in His mercy, compassion and grace to save, to rescue and to surround her and her little one with His preserving hand. May He be a wall of fire about them and hide them in the shelter of His wings. We pray that He would accelerate their growth in courage and in faith, that He would align godly resources, a faithful church, wise counselors, protectors and provision, so that she and her children may live a safe and healthy life and, above all, may find the Lord Himself and be kept alive by His power. True religion displays its greatest marvels around the domestic hearth, and we pray the Lord would make that home, though now shaken, a place of peace and holiness under His care.

We pray also for all who are broken in heart by cruelty, that the Lord who heals the broken in heart would do His own saving work within them, a real healing from His own hand, not mere notions but new life. May they be led to seek pardon first, and with pardon find healing, for when the Lord comes and dwells with His people they have no need to say they are sick. May the violent earnestness which takes the kingdom by force be theirs in prayer, laying hold upon Christ and not letting go till blessing comes.

May the Lord keep you as you intercede, and may He cause you to see His abundant streams of healing flow down from Calvary to those you love and pray for. We commend them all to that great Physician who has never had a case overmatch His mighty power, and who heals effectually.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
