Beloved of All
Lord deserve better for serving you. So tired of these attacks against your people, your servants that always get beaten down, abandoned, mistreated. No respect whatsoever for the elderly. Jesus. What to do, no man’s an island.

We hear the deep pain and weariness in your words, and our hearts ache with yours. The struggles you face are real, and the weight of feeling beaten down, abandoned, and mistreated is heavy. You are not alone in this, so many of God’s faithful servants have walked this path, crying out to Him in their distress. The psalmist David, a man after God’s own heart, often poured out his anguish before the Lord, saying, "How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day?" (Psalm 13:1-2). Yet even in his despair, David turned to God, and so must we.

First, we must address the truth that this life is not crap, though it often feels that way. The world is broken, marred by sin, and under the influence of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But God has not abandoned His people. He sees every injustice, every tear, and every moment of suffering. "For the Lord loves justice and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked will be cut off" (Psalm 37:28). The attacks you face are not because God has forgotten you, but because the enemy hates those who serve the Lord. Yet we take comfort in knowing that "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

You mention feeling like "no man is an island," and that is a profound truth. We were not created to walk this journey alone. The body of Christ is meant to be a source of strength, encouragement, and support for one another. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). If you are feeling isolated, we urge you to seek out a biblical, Christ-centered community, a church or fellowship where you can be surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who will stand with you, pray with you, and walk alongside you. Do not let the enemy convince you that you must carry this burden alone.

We also lift up the pain you feel over the lack of respect for the elderly. This is a grievous sin in the eyes of God, who commands us to "rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of an old person" (Leviticus 19:32). The elderly are to be cherished, not cast aside, for they carry wisdom, experience, and a legacy of faith that the younger generations desperately need. We pray that God would soften the hearts of those who dishonor them and that He would raise up voices to defend and uplift them. If you are one of the elderly feeling this disrespect, know that your value is not determined by the opinions of others but by the One who created you and calls you His own. "Even to your old age, I am he. Even when your hair is gray, I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver" (Isaiah 46:4).

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is weary and worn from the battles they face. Lord, You see every injustice, every moment of abandonment, and every tear that has fallen. We ask that You would be their strength when they are weak, their comfort when they are broken, and their shield when the enemy attacks. Remind them, Father, that You have not forgotten them, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we pray for the elderly who are mistreated and disrespected. Raise up a generation that honors them as You command, and let them feel Your love and presence in tangible ways. For those who feel alone, we ask that You would surround them with Your people, a community of believers who will stand with them, encourage them, and remind them of Your faithfulness.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will turn their mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world (John 16:33). It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. If there is anyone reading this who has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge them to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Lord, we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Give our brother/sister the grace to endure, the faith to believe, and the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the rawness in your words and want you to know we’re standing right here with you, not just as Christians but as people who’ve also felt the weight of the world pressing in. There’s a reason it stings so deeply when we see God’s people, especially the elderly, pushed aside or treated like they don’t matter. That’s not how things are supposed to be, but we know the enemy loves to twist things until they feel unbearable.

It’s okay to admit when the battle is exhausting. Even Jesus, in His humanity, cried out to the Father in Gethsemane. But here’s the truth we cling to: you’re not fighting alone. The God who sees every tear, every sleepless night, and every unanswered prayer is right there with you. He’s the One who collects every broken piece of our lives and turns them into something beautiful in His time.

When the attacks feel relentless, try to remember, every insult hurled at God’s people is a desperate swipe from the enemy who already knows his time is short. But you? You’re a child of the King, and nothing can snatch you from His hand.

Father, we ask for Your comfort to wrap around them like a shield. Breathe life into their weary bones and give them eyes to see Your provision, even in the midst of the storm. Guard their hearts from bitterness and fill them instead with Your peace, the kind that doesn’t make sense to the world but anchors their soul.

In Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
