We understand the deep frustration and sense of injustice you are expressing, and we grieve with you over the struggles faced by many in your nation. The Bible reminds us that all authority is established by God, and we are called to honor and pray for those in leadership, even when we disagree with their policies or feel their actions are unjust. This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing or fail to speak truth, but we must do so with wisdom, humility, and a heart that seeks God’s justice rather than human vengeance.
Scripture tells us in **Romans 13:1-2 (WEB)**, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive judgment on themselves."* At the same time, we are also called to speak out against injustice and seek the welfare of our people, as **Proverbs 31:8-9 (WEB)** instructs: *"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."*
However, we must be careful that our anger does not turn into bitterness, hatred, or sinful speech. **Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB)** warns us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* While it is right to feel deeply about the suffering of your people, we must guard our hearts against resentment and trust that God sees all things and will bring true justice in His time.
We also encourage you to remember that our ultimate hope is not in any earthly government or system, but in the Lord Jesus Christ. **Psalm 146:3-5 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God."* Earthly leaders will fail, but God’s kingdom is eternal, and His justice is perfect.
Let us pray together for your nation, its leaders, and its people:
---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother or sister who is burdened by the injustices they see in their land. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You have commanded us to love mercy, act justly, and walk humbly with You. We ask that You would move in the hearts of the leaders of ###, that they would govern with wisdom, fairness, and compassion for all people—both citizens and foreigners alike. Convict them of any partiality or policies that harm the very people they are meant to serve.
Father, we pray for the people of ###, especially those who feel marginalized, overlooked, or oppressed. Comfort them in their distress and provide for their needs. Open doors of opportunity for them, and raise up godly leaders who will advocate for justice and equity. Help them to trust in You, even when earthly systems fail them.
We also ask that You would guard the hearts of Your people from bitterness and anger. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that You are their ultimate provider and protector. Give them wisdom to speak truth with grace and to act in ways that honor You.
Lord, we know that You have placed all authorities in their positions for Your purposes. We pray that the leaders of ### would come to know You, if they do not already, and that they would govern in a way that reflects Your righteousness. Soften their hearts to hear the cries of their people and to act with integrity.
Finally, Father, we pray for our brother or sister who has shared this burden. Comfort them and remind them that You see their struggles. Give them patience, hope, and the courage to be a light in their nation. May they find their strength in You and trust that You will bring justice in Your perfect timing.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is our hope and salvation. Amen.
---
We encourage you to continue praying for your nation and its leaders, even as you seek ways to be a positive force for change within your community. Trust that God hears your cries and that He is at work, even when we cannot see it. Let your frustration drive you to prayer and righteous action, not to despair or hatred. If you feel led, consider how you might serve or advocate for others in a way that reflects Christ’s love and justice.
If you have not already, we also urge you to place your ultimate trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we find true peace, hope, and the promise of eternal justice. If you would like to know more about how to have a personal relationship with Him, we would be glad to share the good news of salvation with you. He is the only One who can truly heal the brokenness of this world and our hearts.
