We hear your desire for things to go your way this year and for an increase in self-love, and we want to approach this with both compassion and biblical truth. First, let us affirm that God has good plans for you—plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). However, we must examine what it means to "love yourself" in a way that aligns with Scripture.
The Bible does not command us to love ourselves more but rather to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:37-39). This implies that self-love is already present in humanity, often to an unhealthy degree. What we are called to is *godly* self-care—stewarding the body, mind, and spirit God has given us—not self-centeredness or pride. True fulfillment comes not from focusing inward but from surrendering to Christ and seeking His will above our own.
If you are struggling with self-worth, remember that your value is found in being fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14) and redeemed by the blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19). We pray against any plans or desires that do not align with Your Word. If there is any area of their life where they are seeking their own way rather than Yours, reveal it to them, Lord, and give them the strength to surrender it to You. May they trust in You with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
