Beloved Warrior
THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH SURPASSES ALL
UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS
AND MINDS THROUGH CHRIST JESUS.
PHILIPPIANS 4:7
WHEN PEACE, LIKE A RIVER, ATTENDS MY WAY,
WHEN SORROWS LIKE SEA BILLOWS ROLL-
WHATEVER MY LOT, YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME TO SAY,
IT IS WELL, IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL.
Stafford
Can you imagine never being anxious about anything? To me that would probably be an impossibility. Each one of us has worries...about the family, finances, the job, our homes, and the younger people about school.
I like what Paul suggested. He said to turn our worries into prayers. In plain words, worry less and pray more. Got worries? Stop and pray!
Just remember true peace is not found in just positive thinking, in the absence of conflict, or in warm fuzzy good feelings. It comes from knowing that God is in charge and control. We have a citizenship in Christ's kingdom and our destiny is eternally set. Therefore, God's peace can guard our heart against anxiety. God's peace is different than the world's peace.
There is another verse that amplifies the thought Paul expressed to the Philippian church. Not surprisingly, it is also written to the Philippians in verse 4:19.
Paul asked for nothing, yet he believed with his whole heart that God knew what he needed and exactly when he needed it. I am careful to note that it wasn't a message on tithing, nor a pledge for a larger budget. Like Paul, I believe that God takes care of His church and His people through the open hearted generosity of His saints and their need to minister to the needs God places upon their hearts.
"But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
__Philippians 4:19
As the Philippians were true to the Lord in all things, so may you and I be found equally faithful.
