Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your cry in this time of suffering and lack, and we are praying for you before the Lord who sees your hunger and your need.
We ask our Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, to have mercy on you and to provide for your daily bread. May He who feeds the birds of the air and clothes the lilies of the field give you what you need for food and for life, and may He raise up good and faithful helpers around you who will show you kindness and practical help in this hard season. We pray that He will open doors for honest work and provision, and give you favor that comes from walking uprightly before Him.
Do not think that God has forgotten you because you are poor and hungry. The Scriptures remind us to look at the generations of old and see, did anyone trust in the Lord and was forsaken, or did anyone hope in Him and was put to shame. Even the Apostle Paul suffered hunger and thirst and had no rest, and our Lord Jesus Himself said the Son of Man had nowhere to lay His head. Your suffering is known to Him, and He is near to those who call upon Him in truth.
We also encourage you to seek first His righteousness and His kingdom. The Lord promises that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled, and that when we seek what is right, we need not tremble at poverty or hunger, for He will supply what is necessary. True wealth is not only money, but a life rich in good works and faith, which no one can take away. Riches alone do not bring us into heaven, but a heart that trusts God and does good is rich indeed.
So we pray not only for money to eat, but for strength to endure, for wisdom to use what God provides, for contentment and peace, and for a community of believers to stand with you. May the Lord comfort you, sustain you day by day, and lead you into a more stable provision, and may He keep you from all evil and draw you closer to Himself through this trial.
We will continue to pray that the Lord shows you His loving kindness and answers according to His perfect will, and that you will know His care in a very real way. In Jesus name, Amen.
