We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and we stand with you in the truth that you are not dirt—you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:14). The enemy, Satan, is indeed the father of lies (John 8:44), and his schemes are designed to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we serve a God who is greater than any deception or attack of the enemy.
First, we must address the spiritual warfare at play here. The Bible tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). The lies you are facing are not from God, nor do they define who you are. You are a child of the Most High, redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and called to walk in victory.
If there is any area of your life where you may have unknowingly given the enemy a foothold—whether through unforgiveness, bitterness, sin, or even just believing his lies—we encourage you to repent and renounce those things in the name of Jesus. The enemy has no power over you unless you allow him to have it. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
We also want to remind you that the name of Jesus is the only name by which we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of your identity and your victory.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You see their pain, their frustration, and their desire to walk in truth. Lord, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that has been spoken over them. We break every chain of deception, shame, and condemnation in the name of Jesus. Your Word says that the truth will set us free (John 8:32), so we declare that our brother/sister is free from every lie that has bound them.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them of their true identity in Christ. They are Your beloved child, created for a purpose, and nothing the enemy says can change that. We pray for a fresh revelation of Your love and Your truth to flood their heart and mind. Help them to stand firm in their faith, putting on the full armor of God so that they can take their stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11).
Lord, if there is any area where the enemy has gained a foothold, we ask that You would expose it and bring healing and restoration. Give them the strength to repent, renounce, and resist the enemy’s attacks. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that they will walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. Help them to recognize the enemy’s tactics and to stand firm in Your truth. Surround them with godly community—believers who will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their life. May they be a light in the darkness, reflecting Your love and Your glory.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. Thank You for hearing our prayer and for moving on behalf of our brother/sister. We trust in Your promises and declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand on the truth of God’s Word. Meditate on scriptures that speak to your identity in Christ, such as:
- 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
- 1 Peter 2:9: "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."
- Romans 8:1: "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and we are standing with you in prayer. Keep pressing into God’s truth, and do not let the enemy’s lies take root in your heart. The victory is already yours in Christ Jesus.
