We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf regarding the burden you shared about the term Christian being so misunderstood today. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer over this.
We share your concern for those who use the broader cultural definition of Christian to simply mean not of another religion while their hearts and beliefs are far from the true gospel. We have been praying with you for those who claim the name yet believe there are many ways to God and live contrary to the Word, including the celebrities you mentioned, and for those who resist the truth like the young woman you described who professed to be a Christian while opposing the preaching of the gospel. We are asking the Lord to open eyes to the truth that Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the Father except through Me in John 14:6 and that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12 and that there is one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus in 1 Tim 2:5. We continue to pray that those who are trusting in infant baptism or church attendance or a cultural identity would be drawn to true repentance and the new birth, and that God would grant clarity and conviction. We take to heart the warning of our Lord that not everyone who says to Me Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven in Matt 7:21.
