His Daughter

Humble Servant of All
Please join me in prayer for my friend, ###. ### is suffering from emotional avoidance. It may seem small and insignificant but this trait leads to the destruction of a person's life. It stresses out the people who love you then eventually pushes them away where there is now loss. The avoidant spirit pours themselves into work/other distractions, and possibly (selfishly) focuses on a distraction that brings temporary emotional relief, such as another person. ### focused on me, his friend, and subconsciously projected his emotional emptiness disguised as romantic interest. I represented temporary relief from his day to day stresses but I thought he was falling in love. The revelation of it all hit me hard, but I stopped thinking about how the reality of it hurt me and chose to come here asking for prayers of deliverance for him. Please support me by praying for his Salvation, because Christ is the ONLY ONE who can truly fill our emotional cups. I'm concerned for his mental and emotional health because the subconscious behaviors of the avoidant spirit leads to stress related health complications such as stroke or heart attack. Please pray with me for ###'s deliverance. I'm almost sure he was led to me, not for a romantic relationship, but for such a time as this. Thank you all for your supportive love. I pray that each of you are filled with God's perfect peace, His perfect comfort, and His perfect strength so that you can each be strong enough to lift others. In His Son Jesus Christ Holy Name✝️Amen!

Father, thank You for the opportunity to lift ### and others here who are in pain through this digital ministry 🙏🏻

We join you in prayer for your friend and we thank you for your selfless and mature love in bringing him before the Lord instead of holding onto the hurt you experienced. What you described is not small and insignificant at all, you are right to be concerned, for when a person avoids dealing with their heart and pours themselves into distractions or into another person for temporary relief, it reveals a deeper spiritual emptiness that only Christ can fill. We commend you for seeing this with clarity and compassion and for understanding that he was not truly falling in love but was seeking an emotional refuge.

The Word tells us The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 and also Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Emotional avoidance is often a way of refusing to bring our brokenness to God, and it can become a stronghold. We are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7. When we do not, we try to fill our souls with work, distractions, or other people, but those wells run dry. Jesus said Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again. John 4:14. Only He can fill the emotional cup and give lasting peace.

We also want to gently address what you discerned about the romantic interest. A biblical relationship between a man and a woman is not meant to be a temporary emotional relief or a distraction from pain, but a purposeful courtship with the goal of a lifelong marriage that honors God, between one man and one woman. When feelings are projected out of emptiness rather than out of a Christ centered commitment to pursue a godly spouse, it will inevitably hurt both people and can lead others away from God's design. We pray that both you and your friend will in the future seek relationships that are rooted in Christ and aimed toward godly marriage, guarding your hearts and keeping yourselves pure before the Lord.

We stand with you and pray for his deliverance and salvation, for his mental and emotional health, and for your own healing.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear friend to You. You know his heart, his struggles, and the avoidant patterns that have kept him from facing his pain honestly before You. We ask that You break every stronghold of fear, avoidance, and emotional idolatry in his life, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Deliver him from the spirit that drives him to distraction and to use others for comfort, and draw him to Yourself where true comfort is found. We pray for his salvation, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. Fill his emptiness with Your presence, heal his broken heart, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. Teach him to come to You when he is weary, for You have said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. Guard his health, his mind and his body from the stress that this pattern brings, and grant him Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7.

We also pray for you, our sister in Christ, who was hurt by this revelation. We ask that You heal your heart, comfort you, and give You wisdom to maintain godly boundaries while still loving him as a friend in Christ. Help you not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6. Let Your perfect peace and strength fill you as you have prayed for others to be filled, and lead you in wisdom and discernment for any future courtship that You may have for you with a believing spouse who seeks Christ first. We thank You that You heard our prayer in Jesus holy and powerful name, for whatever we ask in His name according to Your will You will do. Amen.

Thank you for bringing ### to us in prayer, and for the gracious way you did it. It would have been understandable to stay focused on how deeply this hurt you, and instead you turned that pain into intercession for him. We notice that maturity and we are grateful for it.

What you describe is painful on both sides. When someone copes by pulling away from hard emotions and pouring themselves into work or other distractions, it can leave the people who care about them feeling confused and worn out, and it can leave the person themselves isolated. We hear your concern that this pattern has been costly for him and for your friendship.

One thing that has helped many in a similar place is learning what a healthy boundary looks like. A boundary is simply knowing what is ours to carry and what is not, so we can stay connected to others without losing ourselves. It allows us to say yes and no honestly and kindly, to guard our own hearts while still loving the other person well. Your decision to step back from the romantic expectation and to pray for his wellbeing instead is already a step in that direction.

It may help you to think through, perhaps with a trusted pastor or counselor, what ongoing friendship with ### can look like in a way that is clear and caring for you both. And since you mentioned worry about stress affecting his health, we would gently encourage him to see a medical professional for any health concerns, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask for Your mercy over his life. Draw him to Yourself, bring healing to the places that feel empty, and give him wisdom to face what he has been avoiding. Give our friend here peace as she continues to pray, and guide both of them in Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and it is a gracious thing that you have turned from your own hurt to seek the eternal good of your friend. There is wisdom in what you have discerned, that no human heart can fill the emptiness within, and that temporary relief sought in work or in distraction or in another person will leave the soul still poor and still going down to the Pit.

We will join you in praying for this man as you have asked, that the Lord in His mercy would grant him salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other ransom. The scripture says, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but God has not only invented the way, He has found the ransom in His own Son who bore the penalty of our iniquities. We pray that God would give commandment to save him, to save him from himself and from the power of his sins, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin.

We pray also for his deliverance from the power of darkness, for He has delivered us from the fascinating power of sin and from the dominion that holds men captive to avoidance and emptiness. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. If he is to be truly free, Christ must make him free, and he must be born again from above. We ask the Lord to keep back his soul from the Pit and his life from perishing, and to preserve him from the stress and sickness that sin and sorrow bring upon the body, for the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations and even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it.

And for you, be encouraged that the Lord Himself kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, but that which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable. The Lord has chastened you sorely in this disappointment, but He has not given you over unto death. May you live and declare the works of the Lord, and find your own cup filled not by another creature but by Christ, who alone can fill it to overflowing.

We do not ask the Lord to bless a romantic union apart from His holy ordinance, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all intimacy belongs within it, but we do ask Him to make your friendship, if it continue, to be pure and helpful and ordered toward his salvation. If the Lord led him to you for such a time as this, let it be for this noble end, that he might hear of the ransom and be saved.

Father, be gracious unto ### and say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for Thou hast found a ransom. Bring him from darkness into the kingdom of Thy dear Son, forgive his sin, heal his heart, and grant him a new life. Grant to our sister perfect peace and perfect comfort and perfect strength as she waits upon Thee, that she may rest in Thy love and be kept by Thy power through faith unto salvation. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
