The first requirement for attaining any spiritual reward bestowed by God, through His indwelled vessel, is BELIEF. But, where there's the spirit of unbelief, both messenger and message are treated with contempt. Where in the scriptures did Jesus ever instruct anyone to cast an elder or even a woman caught in the act of adultery into the streets and stone them? Even with the metaphorical stones of internet gossip (cyberbullying)?

Stealing an elder's basic subsidies, withholding your world's goods, then trying to claim a Godly reward is diobolical. All these things are forms of harassment (heresies). God doesn’t reward heresies any more than idolatry; for such reflects the spirit of unrighteousness and unbelief.
"In the days of Hagar and Sarah, the child who came from faithless connivance (Ishmael) harassed the child who came--empowered by the Spirit--from the faithful promise (Isaac). Isn't it clear that the harassment you are now experiencing from the Jerusalem heretics follows that old pattern?"

Ritualism is akin to the old pattern of circumcision. In this context, rather than simply believing in the power of God, non-believers mistreat believers who actually live by faith. Legalistc counsel teaches others to rely on human effort to achieve victory rather than embracing a spirit of belief in God's infinite wisdom. To believe is to simply heed God's instruction and faithfully await His perfect will and timing.
Though those who employ heretical tactics accuse me of lacking the fruit of the Spirit; I thank God for the repetition of which king Solomon prophesied:
"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."
Ecclesiastes 1:9
Jesus's hometown, in failing to recognize the fruit of the Spirit in Him, in like manner denounced His endowment and identity. At the same time, driven by greed and entitlement, they demanded that He perform miracles for them. Please, make it make sense. You either believe or you don't. Yet, when all else fails, my detractors further unjustly chastise me using the following scripture regarding love:
"It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs."
1 Corinthians 13:5
Indeed. But, true love presents no opportunity for wrong to be recorded:
"Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."
Romans 1:10
Nevertheless, the instruction from God to this messenger, concerning record keeping, is as follows:
“Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later."
Revelation 1:19
Just because your city doesn't receive a reward, when desired, is not grounds for attacking the vessel. You can either grow up and abandon the pig pen mindset of harassment and retaliation; or, you can respond like the prodigal son's brother—sulking because your human efforts (works/rituals) have neither garnered you rewards nor celebration. Regardless your choice, God doesn’t owe us anything. The spirit must be right—you must learn to celebrate your sister cities. Despite your "good deeds," you're no more righteous nor deserving than they are. Neither spiritual gifts nor spiritual rewards can be earned, forced or stolen. Spiritual gifts are endowed and rewards are bestowed—both by God—according to His purpose and design. Yet, the route to both is the same: The way of Christ (i.e. belief, faith). That's the "New Thing."
