"The Solution"
I heard someone say once that worry is like a rocking chair...it's always in motion but it never gets you anywhere...so why do we struggle with it and what good does it do?
1 Peter 5:6-7 ( Amp).says, Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Since Jesus invites us to cast all of our cares and worries on Him, why do so many of us refuse to do it?
The only way to have victory in our lives is to play by God's rules and He says we must stop worrying if we want to have peace. So when things come our way that cause us to be concerned, and we need God's help... how do we get it? 1 Peter 5:6-7 lists two important steps: first we are to humble ourselves, and second we are to cast all our cares upon Him.
Worry is the opposite of faith, it steals our peace, it wears us down, and it can even make us physically ill. When we worry, we torment ourselves, and unfortunately we're doing the devil's job for him! Worry is caused by not trusting God to take care of us. Too often we trust in our own abilities, believing that we can somehow figure it for ourselves but after all our worry and self effort, we come up short, unable to bring about any suitable solution to our problems.
God has a plan for us that goes beyond our abilities... it's something supernatural. It comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who can change all things. As a bonus to that faith, He promises a total overcoming victory. If you really want to help yourself, look beyond yourself to the only One who can save you and give you that ultimate victory Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
