What manner of persons...?
I never judged anyone unrighteously: certainly not my hometown. I simply chose to carry out God's instructions for my assignment rather than man's. But, being blinded and deaf, she failed to recognize.
Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD. Jeremiah 8:7 (NIV)
My hometown has, not only unrighteously judged me; she has also punished another man's servant. Belonging to Christ, I am His servant, not hers'.
Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand. Romans 14:4 (NIV)
Then, with their backs turned on their fellow servant, they have the unmitigated gall (the spirit of entitlement), to go before the omniscient God, pleading "Lord-Lord" that their own houses may be spared; yet, having thrown me out into the streets, they extended no such grace or mercy towards God's house. Vengeance belongs to the LORD: and it is measured by what you measure.
¹⁵Therefore this is what the LORD says about the prophets who are prophesying in My name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, ’No sword or famine will touch this land.’ Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine. ¹⁶And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them, their wives, their sons and their daughters. I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve. Jeremiah 14:15-16 (NIV)
Not only are our bodies God’s temples; but, know ye not that we who, remain in Christ, are His house.
But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. Hebrews 3:6 (NIV)
Bible 101: We are never to mistreat orphans, widows, and elders, no matter what the circumstance; and certainly not based on the testimony of false witnesses.
Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ Matthew 18:33 (NIV)
Recommended Reading: Matthew 18:23-35 & Matthew 24:44-51
He said to him, “Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable sins being committed in their city.” Ezekiel 9:4 (NLT)
