Servant of All
The Sabbath joy
Isaiah 58: 13-14
God tells us to honor this day which He himself honored and sanctified. God's promises are true and honourable. If God tells you to do something and that he will bless you,you ought to do it. These words are from God.
God promises great things. He promises spiritual and material wealth and to feed you with the heritage of Jacob.
Here are some of the things He delivered to Jacob:
holiness of character; blessings of health ; skill in agriculture, animal husbandry ; superior craftsmanship; unparalleled prosperity; national greatness.
The Sabbath gives you time to reflect on God's greatness, and for how He has manifested himself in your life and it is time for communion with the lord your God.
Isaiah 56: 2, 6-7
God has blessings for those who honor his holy day and even those who are strangers to the house of God. God desires that we share this wonderful blessing and spread the joy of the Sabbath to other people so that they may appreciate it and glorify God
Mark 2: 27, 28
The Sabbath was a gift that God gave to man, a special day for man to come to communion with his creator and be reestablished in faith
Exodus 20:8-9
Not only are you to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy but you are to work hard the other six days
Genesis 2:2-3
God rested on the seventh day from all His work and he blessed and sanctified it
The truth his these things haven't changed at all. God's law, the ten commandments which are the expression of his love are still valid:
1. Malachi 3:6
God doesn't change. He is the same God who blessed the day and set it forth for us to commune with Him.
2. Ecclesiastes 3: 14, 15
3. Romans 7:12
The law of God is holy and righteous. Through acknowledging the law, we come to know what sin is, which is the transgression of the law. And we come to realize that we are weak without God's help, and we come to Him and ask him to guide us and change our hearts as we are built by the Holy spirit to reach the level of maturity in character. Jesus came and fulfilled the law, showing that is possible to keep it and that his sacrifice on the cross paved way for us to come to father through Jesus Christ and ask to be changed.
Matthew 5: 18-19 KJV
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Exodus 16: 4-5
When is the sabbath day?
Luke 23: 54-56
Jesus died on friday, and friday evening was the preparation for Sabbath, and the followers kept it according to the commandment
Luke 24:1-2
Sunday is the first day of the week and that was when Jesus was resurrected
