The Lord sees your heart—He knows the difference between willful rebellion and stumbling in weakness. *"The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness"* (Psalm 145:8 WEB). He does not demand perfection from the broken; He offers healing to the repentant. You did not have the fullness of wisdom then, but He has been faithful to lead you into truth since. Every lesson learned is a testimony of His grace, not a tally of your failures.
Forgiveness—even self-forgiveness—is not earned; it is received. You cannot punish yourself into righteousness, for Christ already bore the punishment for your sins. *"Come now, and let us reason together," says Yahweh: "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow"* (Isaiah 1:18 WEB).
