Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this update so honestly and for allowing us to continue praying with you. It is understandable to feel saddened and shaken when it seemed the evil had stopped and then the fear returned. We grieve with you and with your friend over the distress this man has caused, and we thank God for the new strength He has already given you in Jesus.
Be assured that nothing this man does in secret is hidden from God. Even when no other eye sees, the Lord sees. He heard the cries of His people under oppression in Egypt and He remembered His promises to deliver them, and He hears your cries now. What looks like hidden manipulation and threats to trap and control is fully known to Him, and He is able to make every device fail.
We are praying that Jesus Christ will claim the victory that is His over this bondage. Just as God promised to bring His people out from under their burdens and to rescue them from their slavery, we ask Him to break this hold completely. Sometimes God allows the pressure to increase so that His people will see clearly that they must come out from it altogether and not look back. We pray your friend will be given firm strength to refuse every attempt to recapture her, to not answer, to not return, and to not be drawn back into fear or shame. We pray that every scheme of the one harassing her will come to nothing and that he will have no power to ensnare her again.
Trials like this can either shake faith or deepen it. God can take what is meant for harm and use it to move our trust from mere ideas about Him to a deeper heart confidence that He is present to protect and shelter, as He protected Daniel in the den of lions. Cling to what you have been taught from Scripture from your youth. That heritage is a strong anchor now. Let the Word remind you daily that God is with you, that He goes before you and behind you as a covering, and that He is able to keep you.
We continue to pray that the Lord will surround your friend with His protection, lift the fear that has weighed on her, give her courage and wise counsel and practical help to stay safe, and draw you both closer to Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and deliverance. May He lead you both to walk in truth, in purity, and in the fear of God, hating what is covetous and evil and loving what is holy, so that no further door is opened to the enemy. May He grant you peace, clear guidance for the next steps to take for safety, and full confidence that He will be faithful to deliver those who trust in Him.
