The Lord Is Your Refuge, Friend And Helper

THE LORD IS YOUR REFUGE, FRIEND AND HELPER
Look to my right and see; no one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no one cares for my life. I cry to you, O LORD ; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Psalm 142:4-6

Are you overwhelmed by the desperate and impossible situations that you are facing in your marriage? I recently studied many different words that start with "I" and one of the words was "impossible." Regardless, of your circumstances right now, may you never forget that your Lord God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, is right there beside you wanting to direct your every step.

"For nothing is impossible with God." Luke 1:37

Do you feel that you are totally alone? Do you think that no one really understands why you still want your marriage restored or why you still have feelings for your husband or wife? Today, be assured that your Lord understands your every emotion and He wants to be your forever Friend, your Helper and your Refuge. Cry out to Him right now, telling Him all your problems.

I cry aloud to the LORD ; I lift up my voice to the LORD for mercy. I pour out my complaint before him; before him I tell my trouble. When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who know my way. In the path where I walk men have hidden a snare for me. Psalm 142:1-3

Tonight read Psalm 142. If this Psalm encourages you, learn to personalize the different verses and get excited about how you are praying to your Lord for yourself and for your spouse. This Psalm is about David when he was in a desperate situation. He was being chased and hunted down by Saul. David was hiding in a cave. He felt very alone without any human help or supporting friendships. Is that how you feel?

How often do you call a friend or family member to tell them your problems? Do you think they can solve your problems? Never forget that your Lord is right there with you, knowing which way you should turn, if you will only learn to go and ask your best Friend, Helper and Refuge which way you should go!

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Psalm 119:35

I know that you are facing a huge mountain of circumstances, but we also know our God who can remove your mountain. Cry out to Him, asking for His grace and mercy this week. Tell Him you cannot make it without Him. Ask your Lord to hold you with His righteous right hand. Allow your Lord to be your refuge for this difficult time in your life. Allow Him to give you His peace that is beyond understanding.

...The LORD is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:5-7

I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence...A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will come near you. Psalm 91:2-3,7

As David was being chased and hunted down, he knew that God had chosen him, but in the natural eye, the enemy's armies were greater in number. Remember, what the Lord has told you to do. Stand firm in your assignment of marriage restoration. David asked the Lord to release him from the prison that he was in and the Lord did.

Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me. Psalm 142:7

I understand you may feel you are in a prison of impossible marriage problems, with financial pressures, children problems, health and employment needs. Ask your Lord to set you free, by rescuing you from the tricks and schemes of Satan, so that you may praise your Lord Jesus Christ.

This week start praising the Lord for all that He is going to do in the near future for your spouse and marriage. Now start praying, crying out loud your complaints and troubles to your Lord (Psalm 142:1) and let Him become your best Friend, Helper and Refuge in the darkest days of your life. He is always there if you seek Him.

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:9-10

God bless,
