The lady needing prayer for a job also requests prayer for her boss

Anonymous

Beloved of All
The lady needing prayer for a job also requests prayer for her boss. Her boss has previously made old staff have issues finding a job in same type job they are looking for. She's not sure how her boss did that in the school system but she wants prayer for her boss because she found out that her boss had mad it hard for old staff to get job positions in other schools.

We have heard this request and we are moved by the compassion shown here, that even while seeking prayer for her own need for a job this dear one is also asking for prayer for her boss who has acted unjustly toward others. That spirit of intercession reflects the heart of Christ and we join together in bringing both needs before our Father.

We must speak plainly that what has been described about this boss making it hard for former staff to find positions in other schools is wrong in the sight of God. To use a position of authority to hinder or harm others, to block their livelihood or speak against them unjustly, is an abuse of stewardship and does not align with God's call to love our neighbor and to do justice. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He calls those in authority to act justly and to love mercy as it is written in Micah 6:8. We rebuke that kind of manipulation and unfaithfulness, for it is written The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1 and also Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. God will deal justly and He also desires that this boss would repent and be transformed.

We also take comfort that God is sovereign over every job and every open door. No man can ultimately close what God intends to open, and no scheme can thwart His provision for His children. We encourage this sister to continue to seek the Lord with trust and without anxiety, for it is written In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6 and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We encourage her to keep praying for her boss as Jesus commanded, for it is written But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. To pray for one who has acted unjustly is powerful, it releases bitterness from our own heart and invites God to work in theirs.

We lift up this prayer together in the name of Jesus. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is no other name by which we can come to You. We thank You for this sister's compassionate heart. We ask You to provide for her according to Your riches and mercy, to open the right job in the school system or wherever You would have her serve, and to give her favor and peace as she waits on You. We ask You to protect her reputation and her future from any unjust interference. And Father, we lift up her boss to You. We ask You to convict where there has been wrongdoing, to soften a hardened heart, to bring repentance and a desire to act with integrity and kindness toward staff past and present. Let this leader use authority to build up and not to tear down, to speak truth and not to hinder others. We pray that You would bring healing and justice for those former staff who were harmed, and that You would let Your will be done in that school system. Guard our sister from fear and resentment and fill her with Your love and wisdom in this situation. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We want to gently remind that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved, for it is written Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we have not already placed our trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, we encourage this dear one and all who read this to call upon His name today, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray and in His name we have hope for every need, including this need for work and for justice and mercy in the workplace.

We appreciate your heart in this. It would be understandable to feel anxious after hearing how your boss treated former staff, and yet you chose to ask for prayer for her. That says a lot about you.

Wanting to pray for someone who has caused harm does not mean you ignore what happened or pretend it did not hurt. There is a difference between deciding to release any desire to get even and wanting the person to be treated with dignity, and the slower work of untangling the resentment and fear that can linger underneath. The decision can come first, even while the emotions take more time to settle, and God is patient with both.

As you look for your next position in the schools, it may help to steady yourself practically as well as prayerfully. Keep a simple record of your work, gather references from colleagues who know your teaching directly, and if you have a trusted mentor or human resources contact in the district, consider quietly asking for guidance on how hiring decisions are made so you can navigate wisely.

Father, we lift this sister to You as she seeks work. Provide for her needs and open the right door. Guard her reputation and give her wisdom for each application and interview. We also lift her boss to You, ask that You work in her heart toward fairness and kindness, and help our sister to walk free from bitterness while she trusts You with justice. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request concerning work and concerning your boss has been brought before the Lord and we have carried it to the throne of grace with you.

We understand the burden you feel. To need daily bread and to know that the hand of one in authority has been heavy upon others who have gone before you is a trial that would press upon any heart. Yet we are reminded how Job, though sorely afflicted and harshly spoken of by his friends, did not charge God foolishly, but fell down and worshipped, and in all this sinned not. And it is written, the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, even for those offending friends who had spoken harshly of him. There is a sacred power in intercessory prayer which both honors God and brings deliverance to our own souls.

You do well to pray for one who may have used influence unjustly in the school system. Our Lord teaches us to have a forgiving spirit, and though we may say we have overlooked offenses many times, we are not to be always trod upon without seeking the Lord. But we are to pray that God, who is greater at forgiving than we have ever dreamed, would work in that heart. We will pray that if wrong has been done, the Lord would bring conviction and repentance, and turn that heart to deal justly and kindly, and that no more hindrance would be placed before those who seek honest labor.

We will pray also for you, that anxiety may not unfit you to meet the difficulty, for anxiety has never brought grist to the mill nor meal to the barrel. Cast your care upon Him who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows, and who knows you have need of these things. May the Lord in His providence open a door for suitable employment where your gifts may be used for His glory, and may He keep you in patient trust as you wait upon Him.

Let us pray together. O Father, merciful and just, Thou seest this Thy child who seeks provision for her household and who intercedes for one set over her. Grant her daily bread by Thy good hand, and guide her steps to the place Thou hast appointed for her labor. Work we beseech Thee in the heart of her boss, that all harshness and unjust dealing may be put away, and that mercy and truth may prevail in that school. Give to Thy child a forgiving spirit and a childlike confidence even when Thy providence seems to frown, and let her see Thy goodness in the land of the living. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, whose blood is the ground of all forgiving grace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
