The lady needing prayer for a job also requests prayer for her boss

Your request has been heard and we are bringing both you and your boss before the Lord in prayer.

What you describe is a painful and confusing place to be, needing to provide for yourself while feeling vulnerable to the power another person may hold over your future. It is understandable to feel anxious when you have seen others struggle to find work after leaving the same workplace. The story of Job reminds us of truths that speak directly to this kind of worry.

Scripture shows us that God is fully aware of what is happening in heaven and on earth, even when we are not. He knew Job by name, He testified to Job's integrity, and He had placed a hedge of protection around him. The enemy had studied Job and looked for a way to harm him, yet he could do nothing beyond what God allowed. In the same way, God sees you, He knows your integrity and your need, and no person can go beyond the boundary He sets. Even when circumstances make it feel as though God has stepped back, He is still at work for the good of those who trust Him.

Job also reminds us that suffering and difficulty are not always a sign that a person has done something wrong, and that we should be careful not to judge motives we cannot see. Job did not understand why his trials had come, and his friends were wrong when they insisted his hardship must mean he was guilty. God alone is perfectly fair and just, He searches hearts, and He will bring truth to light in His time.

We are praying for you that God will open the right door for employment that no one can shut, that He will guard your reputation and your future, and that He will give you peace as you trust Him rather than fearing what another person might do. May He provide for your needs and guide you to a place where your work is valued and you can use the gifts He has given you.

We are also praying for your boss as you asked. We ask that God would work in that heart, bringing conviction where power has been misused and a desire to act with honesty and mercy. We pray that any practice of hindering former staff from finding new positions would be stopped, that justice would be done, and that your boss would come to know the grace and truth found only through Jesus Christ. We do not ask God to bless wrongdoing, but to transform the one doing it and to protect those who have been affected.

May the Lord who is your defender show Himself faithful to you, keep you under His care, and give you confidence that your life is in His hands and not in the hands of any person.
